We werent competing with the world. Only madrid was slighlty interested but they were never really serious.
 
Hmm Manchester and playing next to Smalling or Barca and playing next to Pique. Tough, tough choice.
 
Step 1: bring De Ligt to United
Step 2: get Pogba to Real
Step 3: get De Ligt to Real/Barca in 2-3 years

it's a sound plan when you're an agent like Raiola and want to earn a ton of money through agent fees, but step 1 seems unrealistic.

It's only the Catalan press that seems to be saying that. Don't think De Ligt has said anything yet.
 
There’s literally zero chance he’s doing that if he’s not getting assurances that Pogba will be allowed to leave in return.

You are right but if we get promotion to the Champion-ship, we need to get Scholes out of retirement to play in midfield, I think he'd be bossing in the Champion-ship.

Exactly, it's just an easy story to sell with Barca already getting De Jong. The only league I've seen him mention in past quotes is the PL. Not saying we're gonna get him, but he's not nailed on (now or in the future) for Barca at all like some believe.

The journo reporting it fairly reliable for London clubs. Maybe he got a contact in London that’s close to Sanchez’s camp.
 
Pogba can go as long as De Ligt comes. Who knows what will happen in few years time? Getting De Ligt through the door would be major, major coup. It would be fantastic.

Who replaces the 16 goals and 14 assists of Pogba?

Don’t get me wrong having Smalling out the team fills me with joy but if this was the case I’d hope we would have a top class player lined up to replace Pogba.
 
Do people really believe Raiola has that amount of power over players? If De Ligt comes I'm pretty sure it would be because he wants to play for Man Utd and not because his mate Raiola can earn a few extra bucks

I mean, what do you want him to say? 'Nah, we're fecked without Champions league, we'll be shopping in the Championship next season, they're better than the lot we've got anyway'.

I feel like people are nit picking everything he says and beating him with it yet if he was to say anything different he'd be a negative bastard. He honestly can't win due to the negativity around the team at the moment.

No one in his right mind thought Pogba was coming to United 3 years ago, and guess which European competition we were in at the time.
 
If De Ligt has to be tied and taken to OT in the back of a van, I'm not interested. He should just fire Raiola.
 
The time reporting there won't be any reinforcements in Liverpool's squad.

I would rule out in a swap with Gea.
I think that on this occasion you will have to deal with other teams.
However if he leaves I think it will be with a low price.
A very good option for many teams, including United

My opinion is that he just needs to replace some of the consistent references to the past with plans and excitement for the future. Of course he has to put a good spin on missing CL football, that is expected. But too much folklore about days gone by has to ring pretty hollow with the target audience (young players).
 
If Raiola wants De Ligt to come to United, we need to put a call into Agent Van Der Sar immediately.

That's what I meant. He said he was sat at the airport watching the plane get loaded and not wanting to leave Madrid. Then he got that infamous phone call...
