50 million is the max Lukaku is worth right now, we'd be stupid to reject that fee.
We are stupid if we do or if we don't as that's roughly what we paid for Fred, when it comes to selling they offer us half a shandy and a packet of salt and vinegar but when it's time to buy they want top dollar...

I can’t wait until Rabiot fecks off to his new club so I can stop dreading the possibility he’ll ever play for us.

My hunch tells me you're not a fan?..

"...Juventus do not have the funds for the potential deal having spent in the region of £105m on signing Ronaldo from Real Madrid last summer, according to Sky sources...
Despite reported disagreements during their spell together at the Santiago Bernabeu, Sky Sports News understands the relationship between Mourinho and Ronaldo is healthy and they could work together again in the future."

So despite "Ronaldo endorsement", Mou to Juve won't happen, only because Juve can't afford him! :wenger:

Is this Sky or Don Balon?

Adrian Kajumba: "Crystal Palace's expected valuation of Aaron Wan-Bissaka is forcing Manchester United to consider turning to Thomas Meunier.
United have held fresh talks over a move for Paris Saint-Germain's Belgian right-back Meunier this week due to concerns they will be priced out of a move for Wan-Bissaka.
Palace accept the time may have come to allow forward Wilfried Zaha to leave but they determined not to lose both him and fellow academy product Wan-Bissaka this summer."

Yes, please. Would be a much better fit than AWB and much cheaper.

Happy with this. Sensible signing at a likely sensible price at a time were other areas will require big transfer fees. Let's hope it happens but makes far too much sense for us to actually buy.

Always thought he would end up at Barca. Would make sense for both sides.

Then Madrid can go to war with PSG.

Aren't Chelsea banned from transfers though? I'd have thought that applies to a swap deal as well as straight transfer. Unless of course they're hoping the ban gets overturned, while the rest of us hope it isn't of course :)

Rac1 is the best source for Barca news but did they really report this? This looks like a BS/troll account that fabricated the whole story. I can't find the story anywhere.

I could be wrong though.
I'm gonna delete until I find the original.

I'd like us to take a punt on this guy, if Lukaku leaves.
I think, bar the physicality, he's superior to Rom. Better technical ability, better in the air.
I think, you don’t have to put that bar the physicality there. Mitrovic is a tank, and he actually knows how to use his physique better than Lukaku. He’s a real nuisance to play against.

Love that silly season is finally on again! All the drama, thousand of tweets and people discussing things that will never happen :D

In all seriousness I'm excited to see who we sign this summer. A lot of parts needs adressing, but I do like that it seems we're aiming for young talents who we can build the team around. A real project instead of just throwing money at overpriced primadonnas and see who succeeds.

He beats Lukaku in terms of Physicality too. His finishing is not very good though.

Just a question but why would Rabiot be offered to us?? Surely he's a free agent and so clearly bs should be contacting him?
Or is it a case that his agent is actively offering him around, in which case doesn't look good?!!

I guess he's been touted around by his reps being a free agent. It's pretty normal i'd say.

Basically swapping him for Herrera if this goes through.
IMO it’s a very good deal for us, provided Rabiot doesn’t have mentality issues
He supposedly wants 175k, 25 k more than what we were willing to pay Herrera, but he’s 5 years younger, plays in the same position and is a bit better than Herrera technically

Feck off Ed (if true). You overpaid, why should other clubs who do not have our income.

He paid the market price. Other clubs were offering the same at that point in time.

But who decided that market price? And what price would he be worth now after his worst season and the general ridicule and memes of him for the past season?

Tbf In a world where Kyle Walker costs £50m and unproven young talents cost 40/50m minimum I’d be disappointed with £50m from Inter. Didn’t they ask for £40m for Perisic last year the bastards. They need to cough up.

Why do people want us to sell our most reliable goalscorer? Who are we replacing him with?
