Di Marzio must really hate Dortmund's defenders. Every transfer window he makes up a rumour about the club signing an expensive Serie A CB.
Dortmund have four CBs in Hummels, Akanji, Zagadou and Balerdi. Unless they sell Akanji completely out of the blue the club has little need for another one this winter, even less so for a club record fee that would assume Demiral's value doubled while spending half a year on the Juventus bench. Not to mention the political dimensions in this case, Demiral being primarily known in Germany for being the guy who urged Ayhan to do a military salute, when he didn't want to.
He’s had a pretty weird career for someone so highly rated. Came through at Sporting before being sold back to Turkey, playing half a season there before being loaned to Sassuolo. After 6 months at Sassuolo they purchase him and instantly sell him to Juve who tried to sell him a month or so later. Now rumours are heating back up that Juve want to sell.

Seems he’s being trafficked around to make money.

Almost as if they don’t have VAR in seria A
Did not know if it was used as it is over here, hold my hands up. In any case, out of all our centre backs, he is the one I would be most confident holding his own against these so called weaker opposition who constantly bully is on corner kicks or simple balls into the box. Yet to be convinced Harry is any better in any area apart from being more comfortable on the ball and even then it aint staggeringly different. Sad if he does go, should be atleast 3 out before him.

they’ve had VAR in Serie A since 2017. Same league that Smalling is having an outstanding season in. So pray tell how he’s surviving?
I’ll give you a clue, he’s adapted his game and his ‘shenanigans’ are rated in Caf facts by many, but aren’t based on any actual facts.
Smalling has "adapted his game" by moving to Italy where the pace is slower and the competition not as intense. He plays differently now, as you admit, because the competition is different. Bring him back and he reverts.

You sound personally invested in the idea of Smalling returning, or maybe he's a player you've always liked and didn't like seeing him move - I share neither of those. Smalling had a good season or two with us but became more of a liability, and his brazen shirt-pulling on corners verged on the comedic.

I am happy that Smalling is happy in Italy. I am happy for any and all ex-United players when they continue to have a career and even redeem themselves after being turned on by the bulk of United fans. I wish Smalling well, but he should stay in Italy.

Reactions: sizzling sausages
That's the point: with VAR all of Smalling's octopus-in-the-box shenanigans will be punished. His shirt pulling, man handling, and wrapping arms around attackers would not survive a VAR review.

I guess VAR doesnt exist outside of the PL

Seriously I get there’s other teams working in the transfer window, but why is a Manchester United forums posting alerts about Stevenage, Forest Green and Doncaster Rovers?

He started doing it last summer I think. It seems to annoy most people, and for me personally it's ruined the transfer tweets amalgamation of United news, which is the main reason I started using this site.

I think they should start a separate feed for Utd only tweets at this point. It's irritating to see there's new tweets and it ends up just being a splurge of lower league transfers.

Just put him on ignore and stop complaining. Powers that be of this site have already decided that tweets about the likes of Stevenage are somehow relevant to the vast majority of the viewers of this thread.

Ignoring him still shows the tweets in the transfer ticker though doesn't it?

Also I'm not complaining, I know it's allowed, I'm just expressing my opinion that it's irritating.

They are clever little toss pots. Almost guaranteed they got Rabiot on a free just to make this move. :(

Edit: In an ideal world I would gladly throw our transfer budget out in the summer and focus on trying to get in some of their recruitment staff. Money talks apparently.

Did we not bring in their head scout?

Must have seen the state of the team and the mess off the pitch that he quickly fecked off to Zenit.

Rabiot + Can +60M and it's a deal.

How often do make weights in a deal actually work out well?

Chances are we'd swap out one grumpy prima donna who doesn't want to be here for another.
Some say Veronique Rabiot (Adrien s mother and agent) can be a bit of an arsehole too.

I couldn’t care less about the useless tweets, it’s the complaining that is derailing the thread - and it’s going to continue for the duration of the transfer window. Too bad really.

Lots of assumptions you’ve made there, lots of them and most way off the mark. I do not appreciate people spreading lies about any of our players, this place is rife with them. You’re one of those who likes to grossly exaggerate performances and put 2 and 2 together and make 12, so you’ll fit right in here...

You'd think for how long Ed and Ole knows United need more players, yet there doesn't seem to even be a plan to get realistic players in January. What the feck are they doing.

Madrid will sign Reinier from Flamengo in the next hours.30 m€ and official as soon as he is 18 years old
