Hard no on Tielemans. He has no engine and can't tackle. He is a technically good player but can be bullied off the ball easily. His games since Rodgers came in are his only good performances since he left Anderlecht. Those suggesting him clearly haven't been watching him at Monaco or at Leicester under Puel. Not the type of player we even need in the team if he was able to maintain his recent form for a whole season. We need a replacement for Herrera and Matic, not for Pogba (and if we did replace Pogba it would be somebody far more talented)

I’m not saying he’s good enough for us but if we were to be interested in a Leicester player I wouldn’t mind it being Ndidi. He seems a good all round footballer and he’s more physically imposing than Tielemans.

Is he playing well for Leicester? He struggled in the games I saw him play for Monaco.

He's playing very well since Rodgers came in because he's being given more freedom and Rodgers' possession-based game suits him more. He was awful under Puel and wasn't even a consistent starter.

He's one of the best in the world defensively but he is frustratingly limited on the ball. His passing is pretty poor. For what he'd cost we could probably get better all-round players.

Part of the reason Pogba stinks the place when he's playing shite is because there's no substitutes that can play his role. Maybe some competition can be useful for Paul too?

Neves and Ndidi please. I’d prefer Youri to have a bit more time in the PL after his performances at Monaco but if we can’t get Neves then beggars can’t be choosers. I don’t see many more options for a passer apart from Neves and Tielemans.

Youri and Ndidi would serve different purposes. Tielemans is excellent on the ball and has a great passing range.

Woodward been yapping his gums again - a big clear out is well overdue and tbh I'm not too fussed who goes at this point.

Never thought that we would get rid of the three amigos at the same time. Don't mind Herrera and Mata leaving but we should really do our best to keep De Gea. People are quick to forget how important he is, now that he's had a season below everybody's expectations.

Edit: Well, I'd want Herrera to stay too, but if the rumors about him and PSG are true then we could always improve on him too.

I should bloody hope we want to sign at least 3, personally think we could do with 5 additions minimum if we factor in squad depth and outgoings.

Yes great job this offload our best player in DDG and let Herrera leave on a free, keep Young, Jones and Rojo.

It's funny this club cant give Bailly more time but Jones and Smalling have been given nearly 10 years.

I have no problem with Smalling staying, he's still one of our more useful defenders, but Jones getting a new contract and Ole giving him game time at every opportunity is annoying while Bailly sits on the bench when available.

With exception of Herrera, which is a terrible news, I don't give a flying feck about the rest of these names. We'll need to spend at least 200m now though.

Easier said than done.

Nobody would touch Sanchez even on a free transfer.

This sounds like the club have briefed the media though just like the Technical Director briefings I will believe it when I actually see it happen instead of just reading about the club's intentions.

Also it's terrible that from the offloading players, the likes of Jones, Young and Rojo are staying and even getting contracts, while Herrera is leaving on free.

Another crap season, followed by the usual promised sponsor appeasing trolley dash.

Not a lot will change until we have a proper plan, and back it up when we're actually doing well.

Won't be a surprise if after offloading all this, we go and spend about 100m on 2 players or so then tell the press we did that to give the youth more chance like LVG's excuse in his last season.

Signing Herrera on a +£150k per week for 3-4 years would also be a bad deal for the club.
I think the club is prepared to sell Rojo, but he might not want to leave.
Giving Jones and Smalling long contracts is only understandable if they are on relatively cheap deals and seen as homegrown/backupplayers. Problem is that they are not.
Young getting a 1 year contract is not the biggest issue, as long as we get a RB in or let other players start.

Herrera is only earning 75k. He's even earning less than Fred who is a bench warmer.

He has the right to ask to be treated like a main player and earn at least 150k imo.

Well apparently he's turned down 170 because he wants 200+

Again don't find much problem with that. He surely looked at the standard of the clubs salary and how there's one player who does feck all but earns 350k aka Sanchez and said "sure why not, I'm a main player and contribute more than this wanker then should ask for more".

So, since Sanchez is earning £350k per week, and since most of our players are performing better than him, then they deserve the same wage as him?
