Barca look like they are going big too and I'm sure Liverpool and City will spend a lot. Barely doing any business last summer is looking like an even bigger mistake now. This won’t be an easy window with Madrid and Bayern planning big moves. We absolutely need CL and we need a proper plan and I hope it’s in place or at least in the process of being made. No messing about, pay what we need to pay and sort our team out.
When United are linked with anyone - "No way is that true"
When a rival are linked with anyone - "What a great piece of business, can't believe we're not in for him"
Rinse, repeat.
Can't believe we're not in for Saul!!! Devastated by this.
"..despite Dortmund’s public stance that the 18-year-old is not for sale at any price – a bid in excess of £80m is expected to be enough to lure him to Old Trafford..The Norwegian has told executive vice chairman Ed Woodwardthat additions are needed in central defence, midfield and attack. While he believes United’s squad is in need of experience, Sancho’s rise in Germany has convinced Solskjaer and the club’s scouting department that he is an ideal target."
Sorry, but I won't be satisfied until our backline is made up of literal babies. Only then can we finally say we've rid our transfer policy of its short-termism and exorcised the ghost of Jose Mourinho. This ‘Koulibaly is an old man’ stuff really needs to stop. He’s a fecking 27 year old man. I wish I was fecking 27 again!
Ole has already name checked him twice
100m for Sancho tweet

There we have it folks. Typical Cafe, 28 year old treated like an old man who will start to decline soon (as if it's the 80s or something and a 30 year olds are for a glue factory) and of course the mythical resale value..He'll be 28 at the start of next season, and that's not really the point, if he joined and was amazing from the start then great but older players can struggle to adapt to a new league and by the time they have they are starting to decline physically or will do soon afterwards, leaving a player with high wages and no resale value. Spending £100m on a 28 year old player from a foreign league is inherently riskier than spending £100m on a younger player
He's saying what fans want to hear. That's the type of thing you want to hear from the top brass at your club.
I get out every day. You’re devastated by a press rumour linking City to a player who’s got 6 years left on his contract and who’s never mentioned wanting a new challenge? Think you need to get out more

I just mean I don't care what Ed is saying, he's been talking a lot about everything, not to mention watch this space and similar rabble. This summer he has to act and act big.Of course, and if he doesn't deliver it will backfire.
Lucas Hernandez for 40 million is the deal of the window if it goes through. Apparently one of the best defenders in La Liga when he played as a centre half (anyone can share some light).
He played left back during the world cup for France, this summer window looks to be a hectic situation.

When did this happen that in the 21st century when players play up until 36, 37, 28 year olds are treated as old players?
As an investment an 18 year old makes a lot more sense than a 28 year old. Its potentially 15 years of service vs 5 years. There we have it folks. He's 28 at the start of next season, by the time he's adapted to a very different league (if he ever does) he could be 29 or 30. Sanchez is 30 and is clearly in decline. Some players, those who aren't overly reliant on their pace or are able to adapt their game to cope, play on at a high level until their mid 30's, but they are few and far between.
But if there's no 18 year old top defender available then the choice is between a 18 year old talent who might reach Koulibaly's level versus a 28 year Koulibaly who's already at Koulibaly's level. As an investment an 18 year old makes a lot more sense than a 28 year old.
