If we get 20 million for him, it will be the best deal since Welbeck.

No chance, I'd expect something like 40m and then I'd consider it. I'd personally prefer something like a 2 year long loan though.

 Shit players who barely scores like Ibe went for 15 million and you think getting 20 million for Rashford is best deal since Welbeck?

If it's Euros, it's about 80m, which tbf seems to be what people are demanding post van dijk, neymar, demebele, coutinho.

Napoli president said they rejected 100m euros which was £88m or there abouts at the time.

Yeah, from the reports coming out of Argentina, it was $100m :wenger: and would settle for £90M. I'm really surprised that currencies aren't consistent across reports, or just reported accurately.

Id find it very strange if Napoli were offered in dollars, that's just bad manners to give them the bill for currency exchange :D

Didn't know where to put this, and it's not a tweet, but the Bristol City manager yesterday said that we are interested in Lloyd Kelly. He's a 20 year old left back who will possibly end up playing centre back when he physically matures. Good on the ball, smart defender and very composed/mature for his young age. Played lots for England u20 and the other day played 90 for the u21's for the first time. I've seen him play a lot of times and he is very impressive. The step up to a Premier League club seems inevitable this summer, I hope it's us. Would be a Dalot-type signing for the left side.

The manager said we have watched Kelly 30 times (I think), and also that Man City are 'studying' him. If not us or them I think he will move to a minimum Watford/Everton level team. I don't see why we shouldn't go for him.

Well we should be snapping up next great youngsters so hopefully we get this over the line.

I still don't think he is that great and warrants a world record fee for a defender. But yeah, we need some injection of quality CBs and Koulibaly fits the bill. I just hope if we sign him, he turns out good for us.

Ah it makes sense if you don't rate him that highly.

Heard some good things about Kelly,to be fair.
I know a few people in Brissol who say he's a exciting prospect.

It isn't really in todays market.

Which says it all.

Do you think he is that good? I just get that Italian teams hyping up a player to fleece us out kind of vibe from all this. Plus DiMarzio is silent.

Well I am not speaking about whether or not we are in for him.

Yes he is good, clearly the best CB in seria A.

He is actually very good. Him alongside Smalling would be very adequate IMO.

But it still won't solve our DM problem as Matic and Herrera are both not good enough for that position. As long as we lack a DM to screen the defense, I am not sure even Koulibaly can stop us conceding. De Gea hardly ever comes out as well, so it means our CBs are tasked with a terrific workload, which explains our current shambles.

Well we have to start from somewhere. Neves would be my choice for the DM position but knowing Mourinho, he would go for some 6'2 relic

Does every post in every thread have to have a "but with Mourinho in charge.... blah blahblah" fecking sub-clause?

E.g. should I have chips or mash with my pie tonight?

Chips mate, but with Jose in charge you'll be lucky to get raw spuds haw haw haw reeeeeeee

Yes please!

CB rumours are ramping up, then. I'd say it's looking highly likely we're in for one, and will get one.

These Milenkovic and Skriniar rumours look good but I just have this feeling it's gonna be Alderweireld and these are smokescreens to force Spurs' hand and get them to sell in January.

Average height of Mourinho DM's is 5 ft 11 inches

Average height of Guardiola DM's is 6ft flat

You are clueless

Would be typical of us to be linked with promising CB’s just to end up overspending on Alderweireld. He’s got the experience we want but I still worry about his fitness.

Isn't he playing at right back currently?

He is a CB though. Plays there for his country and has played there for his club. He's quite clearly better at CB as well, similar to Pavard. Him and Pavard would be excellent business from us.
