If Woodward was smart, he'd have a defensive option all lined up and ready to sign in case we're rejected by our main targets. IF he was smart...I'm not holding my breath. I will say that Manchester United football club should be ready for a significant fan backlash if they don't spend significant money today. I'd say even if we buy one defender it won't be enough to challenge for the title, which should be the minimum target in any season. United should be aiming for the champions league. As it is, I can see us struggling for top 4.

Godin would have been the signing of the window so why leave it 5 hours before deadline?

The state of this club... can't even buy one central defender given the many options available. Just bringing in one name would have at least given the fans hope for the season. But nothing? Can't see many of the fans at Old Trafford standing for this and I fear we'll see a backlash quite early in the season, if not from Jose then the fans.
