Why do you think the Fabinho rumor is made up?
We always have more than one target for a position, maybe last year for the DM position,it was Fabinho / Matic. Matic was a risky transfer as we had no idea if Chelsea would sell whereas Fabinho was a more straight forward option.
Also maybe after selling half their squad Monaco refused to sell Fabinho.

I think it was Matic and Dier last summer. Numerous journalists at the time, including Castles, Luckhurst, and, from memory Stone, wrote that the Fabinho stuff all originated from agents/intermediaries with vested interests in spreading disinformation - that's why they were reluctant to run with it (this also got Luckhurst in hot water with numerous Twitter transfer obsessives). Castles wrote a piece at the end of the summer reiterating this and ascribing prevelance of Fabinho rumours to sources at Juve covering for the club. I don't believe we were ever in for him.

United and Liverpool both dropped a lot of points to lower level PL teams that use packed defenses to stifle attacking play and earn a point. Klopp will invest in Fekir, the best #10 available, to break down packed defenses and close the gap with City. Mourinho thinks a combination of Mata, Lingard, and Pogba playing the #10 role are good enough to break down packed defenses and close the gap with City. Mourinho will replace his defenders to give him a better chance at a scoreless draw and a point in the standings. Klopp will add a quality #10 to get the win and the 3 points. And some United fans don't understand why other United fans worry about the attitude and priorities of the manager.

Yet we finished above Liverpool and they never looked like beating us.

Yup. We'll have a terrible transfer window and fall from grace while Liverpool will be the main City's rival for the title. Mourinho will probably seek more scoreless draws just like last season.
Oh wait.

I see Liverpool is like City from last season. Everybody is salivating over their supposed transfer while of course ruing ours.

Don’t understand why we aren’t in for Mahrez. Would prefer Costa but Mahrez would be a close 2nd. Costa will remain at Juve though is my guess.

Is there any reporter claiming we are in for a RW this summer? I have a feeling we are after a CM, LB, back up striker and CB

Willian

Yes. Doesn't negate what I said about Bernardo playing mostly on the right since signing for City though.

He can move central though, or more than likely will should I say.

First of all, we dropped a lot of points came down to our defence in the corner and set pieces. Liverpool couldn't break down the defence with Coutinho, what makes you think they'll break down again easily with Fekir?

We are upgrading a lot of position such as fullbacks, left-footed CM, CB leaders, RW and bench option like Taslica and striker backup. Toby, Sandro, Fred, Taslica, Sidibe/Caneclo and possibly other CM for rotation/competition, that would make United much stronger since United's 2006-2011 and would be strong in every department.

United have conceded more 8 goals than City from set pieces, this is big issues we need to improve. If we can do that, we can make sure we won't drop any point due to this. I think our creativity needs to improve more.

on Midfield. Pogba - Matic - Fred. Matic being DM, to cover space, tackle and intercept. Fred being 8/6 and also support Matic, cover more space, ball winner and is the conductor of midfield. Pogba as BB, playmakers in an advanced role and play higher. Talisco being a bench option to come off the bench if we need a goal with 30 minutes left, an upgrade to Fellaini that is more comfortable on balls and a good passer.

On defence, Sandro and the likes of Sidibe/Cancelo can take on players with dribbles and has better crossing and good going forward, would completely transform us into a different team with stronger width to support forward. Toby can play a higher line, comfortable on balls and can orangize defence, clam and read games so well. Toby is what we thought Lindelof would be. On other hands, midfielders won't need to drop deep to collect balls.

I can see United sides reaching 90+ followed by last season 81, it take a good transfer window to do this, can Liverpool do that? No progress made from last season in the league even with Salah scoring a lot of goals but less 1 point off than 2016/17.

This is too early call, we have to wait to see what happens next season.

@deafepl

To be honest, the sheer presence of Lukaku has made us horrible on set pieces. He is very composed in the final third but in our own box he is a headless chicken.

If we exchange a 22 year old forward for a 29 year old center back we'd be the biggest mugs on the planet.

Everybody needs Isco.
Not until he gets his head-to-body ratio sorted out. Manchester United scouts had the foreknowledge to know we can't have his giant balloon head blocking other players' view of the pitch. We really dodged a bullet thanks to them.

That Man City home game dreadful hash straight to their man still gives me nightmares.

I've seen this a lot lately. Can we ban tweets that use "quotation marks"? The reason they use it is because they are quoting another source (which is generally unreliable).

On the content of the tweet, I'd be glad we're not selling Martial for Alderweireld. I'd switch Martial for Kane though.
