I suspect Sterling is benefitting from Pep's system, but still retains a lot of the old weaknesses. Under a less capable manager, he would probably revert to being a pacy brainless chicken with worse finishing than he has now.

If he is smart, he will sign a new deal and stay at City. Its probably the best club he could be at for now.

We wouldn't do much better if he were available for a decent fee. Although, I can't stand watching him run.

Wouldn't want him here. Too frustrating to watch.
Agree with this. He's very good at running but his finishing and decision making in the final third is pretty poor.
But, last year he had 24 goals, 13 assists with 7 MOtM awards. That's something at 23.

Played for Pep team yet couldn't handle the media pressure (OTT unjust). He would be mad to join us. Our players can easily get unwarranted hatre coming at them for nothing,

That's a pretty strong looking team, and they'll have Gnabry back as well, won't they? Plus of course Goretzka.

It is, especially if Müller and Alaba get back to their best again. Gnabry should be back, yes. I think they are also expecting more from Tolisso and Coman. Still curious what they are going to do and if they really get rid of Vidal, Boateng and Bernat this summer.

Telegraph reporting the same too
How about Sterling for our RW? Yes, I know City won't sell to us and that Sterling is a poor finisher and can be inconsistent, but in a hypothetical scenario where he is available, would he be good for us?
He scored 20 goals last year (many of them were last minute goals which won City many points), he's English, still youngish (23) and can improve.
Plus he's a United fan.

And yet he’s played for both Liverpool AND City, some United fan he’s only one club away from being a total cnut like Milner.

I don’t know how to do the white text thing so...just kidding!...sort of.

I really like this kid.

He can play RB, LB, CB, RW and LW!

The German John O'Shea!

In all seriousness though, he is a talent. Whoever picks him up will have a really versatile player on their hands who has huge potential IMO.

I'd love Sterling at United and so would players like Sanchez, Pogba, Fred, etc. All players who like players who have great movement and run in behind.

Sterling has arguably the best movement in the league, and would make it so easy for the aforementioned players to find him. Pogba and MBappe come to mind.

You can’t turn your nose up at Sterling for being inconsistent but at the same time drool over Douglas Costa

Ok, i know that most of these rumours about top world class players are bs. But some are not and agents and players push them to get better contract or better status or something. And it is clubs fault. If you sign player on 5 year contract, then first 4 years there is no need to give him new contract every year or listen their wishes about how they are unhappy. I payed fee for you, you signed contract. Train, shut up and play. In last year we can talk about transfer or new contract.

* wrong reply. This post was about pogba's "desire" to go back in juventus*

Still trying to come to terms with 67m for a keeper from a manager who said he wouldn't spend big money even if he had the choice. Luckily for him he didn't spend 75m on a defender a few months ago otherwise he'd look really bad...

Liverpool signing a good keeper is a clear sign of the apocolypse. Tell your kids you love them folk.

Mental isn’t it.

Hilarious that Klopp was bashing us for spending 89 mil on a midfielder, then turns around and buys a defender for 75 mil and a keeper for 67 mil. What a fecking hypocrite :lol:

Hopefully this will help convince Woody he has work to do though. Our rivals are strengthening more than we are at the moment. Luckily, there's still time.

Liverpool leaking out actual financial details of the deal kind of seems like a poor guy who got into money and is trying to flaunt it now

Roma I think are fairly transparent on financial details of a deal. They did the same with Salah.

Amazing to think that so many think that no other manager says one thing and then does another.
I'm more than happy with the signings and don't care what others think about how much we paid for them.
It's all swings and roundabouts. Buy Coutinho for just over £8m sell for £146m, buy Salah for just under £40m and what's his current worth. Just the same as spending big and taking the gamble.

What is the point of Tom Ince? At one points he was supposed to be hot prospect yet seems like a kind of player who doesn't want to fight when it gets tough for him but opt for easy option to get game time

He’s a Championship player. Nothing wrong with that but just accept it. He as awful in the Premier League. Literally contributed nothing. Not good enough for top level.

It really doesn’t matter. Liverpool fans and Klopp won’t care. Call him a hypocrite all you like. They’ve got a good keeper and have solved a big problem.

Remember a month ago when the Spanish press said Allison was Madrid bound and I said I can guarantee Allison won't go there because it's common sense that he won't...

Your notifications are gonna be off the charts if this deal goes through!

How are you reading the situation though? As I've said, unless you are ITK you are just going on the same information we all are, 99% of which is absolute rubbish.

Anyway, I guess we will see what happens.

I'll be back like terminator when if Real sign another keeper though.

You missed your chance to say "quote me"

Quote me!

Just need the monthly De Gea rumour and I'll have about 10 more of you to remind

Khedira is done. Di Sciglio is not a starter. Neither is Cuadrado with 40m Cancelo in the team. Mandzukic is not getting minutes ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo. Juventus are actively looking to replace Benatia.

You just listed 5 starters from one of the strongest teams in Europe last season as deadwood. You’re only right about Sturaro. And Benatia, Mandzukic and Cuadrado could all be well deserved starters next season, as they certainly would be for United.
