Funny that they're trying to be all moral about player fees given they're the ones who made 50M fees for England players the norm.

Nah, Mourinho likes Rojo. His old contract was to expire in 2019 anyway so if we wanted rid we could still have sold him this summer without giving him a new contract. The new contract is a sign we want him to stay.

Another mercenary who chose money over Pep. There are many of them these days you need to start thinking football is going in the wrong direction. It's absurd they are choosing money over Pep. :D

City spend 100m on 2 wingbacks but were priced out over Jorginho? Yeah ok.

Its quite normal for big clubs to pay big for players they want but try to penny pinch on squad players. Jorginho was to rotate with Fernandinho and replace him after 1 season. Unfortunately City aren't a big club.

If true, we might see more of the 352 next season. Would explain our continued rumoured interest in Perisic - i think he is Jose top choice for the LWB position in a 352.
He wanted to play it last year too.

Manchester United offered €32m for Bonucci, PSG is interested too [La Repubblica]

Isn't that bit too cheap?
He's just 31 (he turned 31 just two months back) and before this season was considered as the best CB on the planet with even City chasing him.
How has he been playing this past year? Has he declined?

Did Serri and Napoli part on good terms? There were times it didn't appear so. It seems strange that they are being reported to have pushed Jorghino to Serri. Have City p***ed Napoli off?

Their media narrative is hilarious. Poor Jorginho, forced against his will to go Chelsea and not City.

Not watched him play but AC Milan have financial problems so need to sell. I'm assuming he's on high wages for them too.

I guess Chelsea offered a few millions more, so whatever the relationship between the Board and the manager was, they both had a common "enemy" now-City.

Yeah I read about that but 25,26 million pounds is very cheap. I expect them to demand way more than that

You'd think so, given that Kante is the second best ball winner in the game after Casemiro.

However Sarri plays a 3 man mid with 3 technically gifted CMs and he literally never plays a 2 man mid - a role where Kante shines. It's safe to say from regular Napoli watcher perspective that it is entirely within the realm of possibility that Sarri is insane enough to sell Kante
This was what I was getting at, thanks Peacemachine!!

Some posters in here are far too sensitive and cannot take someone with opposing views.

United need to step up their activity in the market now Blind has gone.

Explains why we've never really been linked for 1.

Dalot will provide some good natural width.
I am sure many fans will not be happy since it will seem like our lack of firepower is not addressed if this happens. Moving to any formation with 2 upfront will help all our attackers though, especially Martial and Rashford.

Great signing. He's the closest clone to Xavi I have seen in years but he's amazing with both of his feet and his version is as good as anyone in the world. Can pick out a pass to unlock a defence for fun.

Glad City didn't buy him, he'd have added an extra dimension to their attack

You seem quite sure of this as I've seen a few similar posts by you recently. Has he, or anyone else who would genuinely know, actually gone on record saying this or are you just speculating based on our supposed transfer targets over the past year?

It's wrong in your opinion. In mine it's not. Kante is over rated, a great player but limited in so many ways.
Would be interesting to see him in Barca colours.

You also compared Ander Herrera to Tom Cleverley, which is absurd.

Mundo Deportivo are reporting that Raiola has offered Pogba to Barcelona and that he wants to leave

Surely bollocks no?

If not Pogba needs to get rid of that pizza delivering bastard as soon as possible...getting tired of these games

Funny that. I've seen him live and he was the worst player on the pitch.

Opinions and all that

Against England at Wembley or against City in the Champions League? I didn't think he performed great in either of those games but was excellent throughout the Serie A season. If he adjusts to England (and he should because his game is based on fast tempo) then he'll be one of the signings of the season for me

I wouldn’t believe that. City just making stuff up to make themselves feel better. If he wanted to join City he would have joined them. City need to just take it on the chin. He works well with Sarri and wanted that to continue and to play in London. Small time clubs are so see through.

Mundo Deportivo are total garbage. I've never seen them once in 10 years print anything that was true. Same goes for other Catalan paper Sport. No idea why Barcelona can't produce a reliable football reporting outlet. Madrid have the likes of AS and Marca and they are usually pretty good and trustworthy.

City is pathetic with this shit now. Every player who rejects them in fact wanted to go there but is forced to go in other club.

So City chase these players for months and then suddenly decide to give up and let them join another club? Who the feck do they think they are fooling

If you ask me, we should sell one of our CBs and buy a CB with very high potential like Skriniar. I'm not sold on Maguire but I haven't seen him play much.
We should ask Alderweireld to hold on for a few more months and renegotiate with Levy in the winter transfer window (if we are planning on playing 3 at the back). He should be available for 35 million.

Trust me when I say that sooner or later all the top clubs will be in for Škriniar. The problem however is that Inter most likely won't let him go for anything less than 70-80m maybe even more.
