It's pathetic that they continue to push this Pep or money narrative, it's absolute nonsense.

I hoped Conte would stay at Chelsea but now I hope he doesn't and Chelsea get Jorginho, would really throw a spanner in City's transfer plans

If that's true then good! Let them be as naive as They want. The fact is not every player sees Pep as the messiah of football but you could argue They all need money, their agents need money, their clubs need money and City aren't even at the very top to be able to do such thing. Just 2-3 years ago They were throwing money at shit defenders. And now, just because They won the league in an impressive way (which by the way, has only happened once) They act like every players want to play for them. Let this be their own undoing.

To be fair I'm pretty sure Sam Lee is a Man United fan so I don't think he's making the Fred thing up.

He is, apparently, but he's very blatantly close to City and willing to push their agenda in return for access.

You have to admire the effectiveness of the City PR machine - a club who’s entire relevance is down to the money pumped into them from their owner is managing to position itself as the noble club in a market dominated by money

Well, you can admire City for this, or you can despair at the weak-minded hacks that are happy to repeat this obviously ludicrous narrative

It’s as if they feel Pep has fast tracked the club to legitimacy. Nobody would believe a player would want to play for Man City when another club, especially United, is interested. But they can sell the idea of someone wanting to play for St. Pep.

Why would a football club only sign players who ‘really wants to play for them’?. It’s not like a player doesn’t perform properly if the club they’re playing for isn’t their favorite club.

How many of the players in the world is in the club they’d want to play for the most? Maybe like 50, out of several thousand. Unbelievable how City seems to take it personal when players snub them. It’s a professional football club ffs. Embarrassing to say the least.

It's very weird. Getting into bidding wars for a player you really want is natural, just as pulling out of a bidding war for a player you don't want that much. That they're now trying to build a narrative over something perfectly normal to be perceived as negative...:wenger:

Remind me, how did they sign De Bruyne again?

I see how City have set up this narrative of if a player joins them, it's because they're doing it just to play for mighty City and Pep. However, if a player doesn't join them, it's not a snub, it's just City aren't willing to offer the same deal the player got elsewhere.

I could have had Angelina Jolie, however Brad Pitt came along so I no longer want here.

And Aguero, and Silva, and Sterling, and Fernandinho and Kompany and....... you get the point.

He is, but he's their mouthpiece, his duty is just to get the news out, not to give his inputs, he speaks on behalf of Man City

Any news on what the great Pilib De Brun has said or do we still await with baited breath lol

So, one month until transfer deadline. Not confident we'll get in the players we need to push on.
