Not sure why they are being laughed at. They take a lot of chances on foreign players, some work out great but eventually you find some rotten deals. Looking at the money they have made from resales to Liverpool alone, I wouldn't mind their strategy.

Granted - but when a club like Southampton spends £19 million on a player who ends up playing 7 matches - clearly they have done a lot wrong in their scouting. On top of everything - it was a strange player to sign. His goalscoring stats were mediocre to say the least. A 26 year old with 15 goals for Monaco in 3 seasons ? Add to that - only about 30 goals in 4 seasons in Argentina before that.

PSG offer 270m€ for Coutinho.They want him to hold Neymar and has done the offer to his agent but Barsa won't sell

He’s shite. He said Fellaini had decided to leave the club the week before he re-signed.

Another fraud.
He said that United was independent from Fellaini one day and 3 hours later Fellaini extended. He's just a guy with a podcast who knows nothing about transfer but every summer he tries to be an ITK

270m for a player they bought 6 months ago.

That's obviously not true.
I just don’t get it, what do teams see in Coutinho, he’s not even worth £70m. Apart from his right foot (every now and again) what does he actually do?

Madness

Takes about 30 shots a game, scores a goal every now and then that looks good on highlights.
I've always thought of him as a better version of Kagawa and Mkhi. Very pretty on the ball and hailed only due to scoring more goals from a distance.

Serious underrating of Coutinho in the above posts. He’s top class, and Barcelona have literally nothing else in midfield.

What good is getting €270m if you can’t realistically replace him with anyone? Who do you replace him with that’s better?

Eriksen?

I'd say Coutinho was Brazil's best offensive player in the WC, but surely PSG can't afford to spend with FFP breathing down their neck while they haven't even offloaded players of much value. Does the sale of Pastore, Berchiche, Ikone and Edouard get them over the limit?

Agree. Eriksen is a much better player.
And suits Barca's style of play more.
But I don't think the Coutinho buy was to help the team, it was more of a commercial buy, they lost a Brazilian superstar, so they wanted to replace him with another, to keep their Brazilian/ South American fan base happy and to have that connection with South America.
Its the same reason why they are pursuing Willian. They don't really need him, especially for the money Chelsea are asking.

Barca are now like Madrid of the early 2000s,going behind Galacticos. How many Spanish talents have they missed out on?
Isco, Cabellos, Hernandez, Odriozola from the top of my head. And they actually could have used all those players, unlike Madrid where all of them are subs/second choices.
Not to mention the number of La Masia graduates they are loosing. IIRC they have lost 5 this year and are expected to loose a few more, including that one kid we have been linked with

Bringing Rabiot and Arthur in would typical of the new Barca. They have a few really good CMs coming through in Oriol Busquets, Carles Alena but instead of giving them a chance, Barca are behind exotic talent. They have completely ignored their academy and Spanish youngsters for a few years now while the galactico Madrid are buying up all the young talent.

I’d say Eriksen is a pretty similar level. And the effort of prizing him from Spurs just seems too great to make a like-for-like replacement with Coutinho.

Beyond him, there’s not many attainable. They should be casting their eye at someone like Thiago or Pjanic - but to look to play them in unison, not in spite of Coutinho.

I don't like this new proactive Arsenal that addresses their weak positions before pre-season. Bring back Wenger and AFTV meltdowns because he had refused to spend all summer and then panic signed players after losing early games.

I am not too sure whether I can post tweets as of yet, but just read this;

Il Sole 24 Ore: Elliott takes over AC Milan; Chinese era ends
The latest reports out of Italy are conclusive; Yonghong Li has lost his majority share of AC Milan to American hedge fund Elliott.

Read the below from an acmilan forum as well;
"I think Elliott knew Li was broke and so loaned him the money knowing he couldn’t repay it unless they qualified for the champions league and so they knew they had a 50/50 chance of gaining a huge club for peanuts, Elliott couldn’t loose because if Li was successful he’d be able pay the money back and if he wasn’t then they’d own the club, there’s no way Elliott didn’t do there research on him and had to know he hasn’t the money Li gambled with the devil and lost but the real winner here is Berlusconi to the tune of €750m"

Lately they have had a few potential American buyers but over the weekend amid reports are suggesting that they are negotiating with a Russian entrepreneur, although the name has been unknown until now. In fact, as reported by Italian journalist Luca Serafini, Dmitry Rybolovlev is interested in buying the club.

What a saga eeeh....?

So Phil is swimming upstream. Let's see if he knows anything. He seems to think Fellaini is leaving.

Eh huh. So Phil knows nothing.

I used to back him up on here but I've noticed for a few deals now that he's actually not as well informed and sometimes he just uses best guesses.

They've been shit for years.

I know but still crazy to see that a club like Milan have not been able to sort that out and are still believing that overpaying for 10+ average players per year will solve all issues.
