How can Chelsea appoint a new manager when Conte hasn't actually lost his job!!!!

The rumors have been going on for a good couple of weeks about Sarri. Kinda weird how they haven't gotten the deal done considering some of their star players are deciding their future based on the project the new manager is going to build. Most of their transfers will also have to wait until the World Cup is done.

The representative of Kovacic has asked Real Madrid to let him leave. He is happy but wants to be a starter.
The club has said no and they will not accept offers for him.

I would. He’s better than Lovren and Klavan.

My old man is a better defender than Klavan and I still don‘t think it would be smart to spend 60m on a 29 year old for 20 games a year.

There are several great CB talents right now who could become the next Boateng quality wise. Pavard, Lenglet, de Ligt, Diallo... Most of them are very good already

Why would they buy him when they already have Isco and Asensio. Different style of players but same position so makes no sense.

Italian press, doing what they do best. Trying to inflate prices on good, but not great players.
It's weird, it looks so desperate. Same happened with Belotti last year.

Yet when they sell to their rivals, players go for feck all. Nainggolan being a perfect example.

Nainggolan is old and has an unhealthy lifestyle. It is good for Roma to let him go, just like when Milan bought 31 year old Biglia from Lazio last year.

The players considered for a move to a foreign league are much younger usually (Savic, Belotti, Pogba) and draw interest from clubs with much more purchasing power like Real, PSG and Manchester clubs.

It's still a ridiculous amount of money. Savic has obviously shown a lot of promise but 150m is crazy talk!

I know Pogba cost a lot and has arguably under delivered, but at the time he was one of the most recognised names in football and had achieved a fair bit at Juventus already.

Savic is just coming off the back of a breakthrough season. It will be interesting to see what happens, it sounds like he wants to move but it will be hard if Lazio stick to their guns.

Strikes me as a similar transfer to Schweinsteiger and Renato Sanches - Bayern are trying to cash in while his reputation is still high. They probably know he's entering a period of decline due to injuries.

I swear they use the same philosophy as the New England Patriots - that it's better to trade a player away a year early than a year late

Its smart business really if you don't have infinite amounts of money. I think Boateng has maybe a year or more left in him(at the very top of his game), but potentially I can see him going the same way as Kompany - still an excellent defender, but you just aren't sure when and how long you can depend on them.

Easy said than done. It's depended on whether / how well you replace the outgoing players. Bayern can get the like of Sule, even Hummels (despite a record fee for a defender from Bundesliga) for good fee. Messing up and you would have to pay through the roof to replace that outgoing players having to shop in more inflated market, and potentially with at least one season down the drain (even good players may take time to adapt in new team)

If Kovacic really pushed for the move, we should push for it. He looks like capable to play the Eriksen role (drifting wide from time to time from central)

I'd honestly prefer someone like Lengelet instead of Boateng. His positioning and lack of pace against Mexico was dire. Plus, €50m for a soon to 30 year old is mental.

I agree, but at the same time we are stacking up our midfield as it is. Would you have him play on the right side of the midfield as a box to box? The signing of Fred would then make little sense as he would be pushed straight out and only used as a sub. We still have Herrera and McTominay (I'd like to see the youngster getting more time on the pitch).

I'm not saying we shouldn't sign someone like Kovacic, and it would be a really good signing if we sign him. Just wondering where you would put him in our team. I would rather we sign a backup for Matic in our midfield as he plays every game and seems to not be able to be fit for every game anymore. That being said, do you think Kovacic could play that role as well?

It is a disproportionate and very unrealistic amount.
It would not make any sense to look for talents in Brazil, bargain the price of a goalkeeper (I mean Alisson) to pay later 150 for Milinkovic.
Even if he was the star of the World Cup I think they could reach 80 or 90, but no more. It seems that Lazio is very keen to receive offers.
