Liking these Kroos rumors even if they are just that. Should get back in for Vidal too. Instead of Thiago, Kroos, Vidal we signed Herrera, Fellaini, Schneiderlin. Having Jose replace Fergie would have solved everything haha.

What type is he? We're dying for a combative midfield disrupting Cnut to be the Bain of the league.

He is an allrounder. Mostly plays as an advanced midfielder or central midfielder. He has an aggressiveness to his game, two footed, is good going forward and is surprisingly good on the ball despite his height. A more offensive and creative Matic. I like his confidence, something about him tells me he could end up being a very good player and would be suited to the PL due to his aggressiveness and being tall and quite strong. He wont be the nasty cnut, he can be a bit hot headed at times and rash, but nothing too extreme. He would challenge for the Pogba/Herrera spot. He shares some Pogba similarities position wise and style wise though, but since we need another midfielder in the squad, he would be someone i would like to see join our squad.

Can't see Kroos happening. I see De Gea going there and us getting no one in return to be honest. I think Real will either win the CL or be very close again this year and so I can't see why Kroos, who almost always starts, would even think about leaving.

You're probably right. That's said, I wouldn't rule it out altogether. Kroos was very close to joining us at one point, and that was with a much lesser Manager than we have now. There must have been something about the league and club that intrigued him somewhat, even if only the money. Really, he didn't necessarily have a reason to leave Bayern - maybe he's a fellow who likes challenges and new experiences. Also, if Madrid really want De Gea that much, which they almost certainly do, then it would be foreseeable that they would force Kroos out in order to make the deal happen. They've forced very good players out before, and will undoubtedly do it again. It's not the best way to secure a player, but it could happen. Moreover, Mourinho is no pushover and he seemingly has a good relationship with Madrid. If he really wants Kroos (or another player in return), he'll push hard to make it happen.

Isn't the tax rate incredibly high in Spain? So wouldn't we be able to pay Kroos (who isn't Spanish - so has no connection to Spain) more? I mean I doubt it would happen but that's what we can do

Reasons why Kroos will never want to come to United
1. He's an important component of the Real Madrid midfield; he's a guaranteed first 11 player.
2. He's already won the Champions League last season and he's also guaranteed Champions League every season at Madrid.
3. He has a manager in Zidane who he gets along with very well.
4. United can't guarantee Champions League (just yet...)
5. Zidane and Perez may not want to sell him at all.

Reasons why Kroos will want to come to United
1. United will pay him through the roof and he would want a large pay raise since he's 27 and will want to get paid more before he hangs up his boots.
2. Kroos wants a change and a new challenge and may want to try his luck in the PL.

Madrid are also known for unceremoniously ditching their players - Robben, Sneijder, Khedira, Van Der Vaart, Ozil, Alonso, Di Maria spring to mind.

That is true but all of those players you've mentioned were ditched for someone better or fall outs
Robben was ditched for Ronaldo
Sneijder was ditched for Kaka
Khedira was ditched for Kroos
Van Der Vaart was ditched for not being good enough
Ozil was ditched because Ozil's Dad didn't get along with Perez
Alonso was ditched because Modric was more than capable with Kroos and Alonso was also older and slower
Di Maria was ditched for James Rodriguez

As for Kroos, I can only see him being ditched if Real managed to get Verrati. I don't see anyone capable or experienced enough to replace him at the moment.

Moyes and Van Gaal really did a number on you guys

I don't think getting Kroos is likely, but United are in no pressure to sell De Gea. So if we were to sell, De Gea would cost about £50-60m in transfer value and we may well ask for a player in return (say Kroos or Varane).

As realistic as getting DDG for cheap.

In the end it will be either paying our valuation for DDG or everything remains how it is.

I think most people only believe this is because its real madrid. Getting rid of players because they are ugly/not the hottest name/not the flavour of the month is your club's day to day routine. If it was juve/munich or someone else id laugh at this. As it is madrid and florentino is one egomaniac, who will want a galectico, it seems plausible.

Yeah Real Madrid getting rid of an important cog in midfield for a needless galactico. Where have I heard that before?

Do they tend to sell important starting CMs or CBs though? Genuine question.

Obviously the latest one was Di Maria, but he had a one off blinder of a season, and was more of an attacking presence than an important factor in what made the team tick.

What if De Gea says that he wants to leave but Kroos doesn't want? United will refuse to negociate because they can't complete their demand?.

Will probably try to get someone else? Not sure who that might be...

I think that Casemiro will be in the press, since he is in talks to renew(but he will stay).
Varane,James,Danilo,Morata?,Mariano,Nacho.
Considering that the deal would be money+player=De Gea I'd say that the best options are Nacho Or Mariano.
Danilo is awful and James although is good has the risk of becoming a Di María 2.0.
United should use the money to buy somewhere else

For money plus nacho we would probably let you have Romero.

I was more alluding to them selling Makalele and then buying the likes of Ronaldo and Owen :D

Casemiro is probably 'untouchable'. Agree about James, great ability but not sure if he'll fit this team. What about Marco Asensio? Will he be in Real Madrid's plans for next season? How has his season been this far (I've only seen 2-3 RM games this season)?

And the negotiations would break down and we would look elsewhere for a gk.

And De Gea is a galactico while Kroos is not...why?

We sold players Perez didn't like. He likes Kroos, just made him the third highest paid player on the team. There is absolutely no way he's selling Kroos to sign a goalkeeper. I don't even think he'd sell him for Dybala or Neymar.

Asensio is too good.He can be the best spanish player in a few years. The only option would be a loan and It seems that next season will get more minutes.

Not sure how Real Madrid thinks, but wouldn't it be a good thing to have a Spanish national team player in the team? In this case a goalkeeper? The more RM players in the NT the better? Or isn't this something that clubs care about? Just something I was thinking. :)

Are you sure that he'll get more minutes? Don't you think that you'll buy 1 or 2 offensive players this summer? Where will he fit in? Would he be ok with going out on a loan - would 1 more season change anything for him? But I've really liked what I've seen from him, even if I haven't watched a lot of RM games.

Out of of that list, Varane is the only one I'd take. Is he available in the summer?

You realize you're not signing a player from Granada or Empoli, right? There's no fecking way we'd agree to let one of our best players go for money + one of your fringe players. Mariano and Nacho? ffs man

Reality is that Real Madrid have Zidane in charge now. He is a lot more sensible and doesn't seem to give in to Perez's will. He seems to be more influential than Perez himself so any unneeded transfers won't happen. Kroos is one of the world's best in his position and in his prime, it ain't happening.

We can demand Kroos, but why would he want to join us?
The 3 M's

Money, Mourinho and Midfield-partnership-with-Pogba

But yeah seriously, I don't see it happening but I'd be more than happy if we got Kroos for De Gea. Because I think Kroos and Pogba as a midfeld partnership would be scary as shit to play against

170 mil. please. Otherwise look for another GK.

Then you better stop thinking about DDG and stay happy with whatever you got.
