Torres won't make it there. Not under Simeone anyway. He's a bit like Januzaj i.e. lots of talent but lacks the mental strength

Interesting times ahead for the club. They will just about make 4th place this season and Griezmann will be off next summer.

That's a fair point, I think he's shown he has workrate but in the system Simeone uses he just doesn't have a natural role.

Yeah, I could see them losing a couple of big players this summer and it will be interesting to see if Simeone stays as this season has been a backwards step for the club and they have a trasnfer ban.

The #OM gave an offer of contract a year and a half until the #Evra 2018 World Cup. Juventus is ok to release the player. !

They might play in the same position but they are so different in their playing style that they can't even be compared. Athletico might get Carvalho if none of the other big clubs are interested in him. But there is no way they'll get Weigl.

What if they were about to recieve a windfall of 100m? 45m would get him out of Dortmund easy, hell even 35m would.

We'll sell him for €5 and put Kagawa on top.
The level of delusion that can sometimes be observed on this forum is priceless.

Carvalho won't move to Atlético. Mendes has a big influence there and we don't deal with them in big deals. Furthermore Carvalho's form has been pretty poor. Last two good games by him (both with big importance tbf) was the Euro 2016 final and our away game at the Bernabéu against Real for the Champions League. His performances bar those games have been pretty underwhelming. Hasn't evolved enough after his super season under Leonardo Jardim guidance.

Even if Athletico bid that much, Dortmund rarely sell players who are on long-term contracts. Most of the players that they sold recently had just 1 or 2 years left. But even if they are willing to sell for that price, I think we would be first in the line to get him as Carrick's replacement.

Weigl is signed to a very reasonable contract until 2021. What incentive do they have to give him up so cheaply? This is a club that was able to extricate 30mm GBP from Bayern for Hummels on the last year of his contract.

Who cares whether dortmund would sell? It's Weigl who'd never go to Patetico in the first place

What happens, if Dortmund receive a windfall of 100m when selling Aubameyang..can they get Griezmann then? At least he has a buyout clause and Atletico could do nothing. 45m would get you a big laugher and saying 35m would, makes you look like a 1st class troll. The last time, Dortmund sold an important player with more than 1 year must have been pre-Klopp.

Dortmund are one of the healthiest clubs around..totally debt free with an impressive low wage structure and they are getting more fat every year. They dont see themselves as a selling club at all and when they have the power to prevent a sale, then they are doing it no matter what. United just experienced it with Hummels in 2015. All the top clubs have received countless bloody noses when trying to get Lewandowski, Hummels, Reus, Gündogan, Götze & Co. over the years and we are talking about Real and the whole bunch of PL here. United alone have received plenty of 'not for sale' answers.

IMO they even have been TOO stubborn, when it comes to selling and they shouldnt have allowed to run the contracts down until 1 year, cos then the power of the club ends and they can just sit and watch. In Lewandowski's case they even denied to sell him to Bayern and accepted losing him on a Bosman..thats how stubborn they are. They really hate selling, cos that shows weakness and that they dont belong to the elite.

Weigl is going to stay at Dortmund for the next years and nobody ll get him before 2019.

... not to forget €42m for Mkhitaryan on his last year of contract and even €25m for an injury-prone Gündogan on his last year of contract.

We will sell Weigl one day, but not now or next summer, and not for €45m, let alone €35m.

Would Dortmund refuse 80-90 mil euros for him?

United agreed to pay up to 80 mil for 19 year old Martial. So English clubs are willing to offer silly prices.

For the time being: Yes. In 2019: No.

As Nostradamus indicated, Dortmund's finances are impeccable. Debt-free, growing figures even in a season without Champions League and excluding transfers. While our salaries grow, they are heavily performance-bound. For example, Shinji Kagawa has the same yearly base-salary as Lewis Holtby, former Schalke, Tottenham, now HSV player. HSV have a great history but have been fighting relegation for the last seasons.
The difference is the big performance-related bonus that Kagawa can earn and Holtby can't, believed to be 30-40%. That's why even when we missed out on a CL spot and played only EL, we didn't need to sell any player to keep the boat floating.

Our CEO's mantra is: We are competing in football, not in the finance industry.

Didnt we prise Kagawa away from them when he was a key player in their CL run for roughly 15m then only last window did we get Mhiky who was the Bundesliga player of the year with the top assists in europe.....hmmmm.

Dortmund are a brilliant club ran fairly well but if someone wants one of their players you simply need to pay what they are worth. Weigl is young and widely regarded as a future world class player. The facts are he isnt that good yet and there are no guarantees he will get there, he isnt a prolific goalscorer nor is he a assist merchant hes a central midfielder with high promise. 45m would be insanely high 35m would be fair.

The biggest issue if anyone was to go for him is why would he leave germany or dortmund. He wouldnt not for a few more years. Were better off going after Saul.

Atleticos wage structure is even lower - hence the reason Weigl would never go there.
But Dortmund can see themselves for whatever they want, in the end they are a definite seller club. They lost pretty much every great player the last 5 years, Aubameyang is off in the summer. Of course they can keep them a few years, but sooner or later they are off to "one league above" (Manchester United, Bayern, Real, Barca, City). Letting them run out their contracts, or sell in the last year is all they can do - but preventing the best players to leave? Nope. Weigl is surely going to another club in a few years - rather not Atletico. If he'd get a good offer in the summer, he would surely start putting pressure on the club to get sold the next year, or the next 2 years at the latest.

Nope. Very few players around of his quality and talent at the position. Plus Dortmund don't need money. They will sell for a silly offer(£60/70M) because they'd be stupid not to(especially given that a team willing to pay that much would also be offering him top wages) but for £45M? Don't think so

The first part wasn't the subject of discussion. For the last bits: Weigl had offers from elite clubs in the summer and for this winter, turned them down and extended his contract. He won't move next summer, it's that simple.

Offer him Schneiderlin money then!
