Exactly. Although I also think he's let the celebrity status go into his head, can't see what's wrong with the picture. He's wearing a white shirt and a black jacket. "The state of him".

Yeah he looks pretty smart for meeting his new club, no harm in that. At least he doesn't have loads of flashy jewellery hanging off him. Seeing stuff like this always makes me laugh thinking of when we signed Juan Mata a few years ago. Mata gets off a helicopter like James Bond to be meet by David Moyes in a tracksuit. :nono:

Why would Jose Fonte move to West Brom?

Money I guess, Southampton weren't offering improved terms according to reports. If you ask why would he go to West Brom over West Ham then I don't have an answer, even I can admit that theres probably a bigger appeal in playing for West Ham over West Brom. Unless he watches Sky Sports news and sees all the crap happening at West Ham recently.

Ok bit of an over reaction to that picture alone but it wasn't about that picture exactly just as you said he is one who has let the celebrity status go to his head without actually backing it up on the pitch, which annoys me.

He wants to leave Southampton and thats about his level. No doubt an increase in wages is also a reason.

The reports since the beginning of this saga stated that he wanted to leave Southampton not because there's something wrong with Southampton but because he thought he was going to go to a big club. When no concrete offers materialized he was left looking sheepish. An offer from West Ham would just about allow him to save face. But going to West Brom would just be weird. Why would they be able to offer higher wages than Southampton would? It's not exactly like we're talking about the difference in financial power between Southampton and Tottenham for example. It's West Brom!

Goodness me. Did he steal your dreams. This is just getting pathetic now. As far as this season is concerned, he's not the reason we are 6th, from all reports he's been training well despite not being considered for selection and he could have easily stayed on the bench with a massive wage every week living off the United status but he is biting the bullet to get his career on track but nooooo, it's all about the state of him.

No he didn't and I don't blame him for us being 6th as he not even been able to play good enough for any period of a match to warrant a place in the team. Also I have no issue with him going to resurrect his career, I respect him for that in fact, but its annoying to see the modern trend of players who act like they are the second coming despite putting in poor performance after poor performance on the pitch. Nothing we can do about it I know as players have more money then sense or talent sometimes but its still annoying.

(My annoyance has nothing to do with the photo I initially commented on granted)

There are reports that it is about contract security as much as anything else. He said that he hasn't been offered a new deal as he's got 18 months left on his current deal and is 33. He's looking for a club that will offer him a more long term commitment (presumably until 2019 or 2020).

If that's the case I can somewhat understand his position - he's been with them for several years since their League 1 days and probably feels that from a loyalty point of view So'ton should offer him the same security of contract length as other PL clubs.

There is nothing modern about it. Players and people in general have always been like that. The only difference is that social media makes you more aware of it. Having bumped into a few PL players myself over the years, little has changed. I'd say the general have calmed down. There was a time footballers used to say stuff like "do you know I play football?", To get away with stuff. Memphis is 22, and I'm sure that if you were in his position, you won't be keeping everyone happy either. It's just the way it is, nothing wrong there.

That's batshit crazy. Unless they're sure they're going down, why sell him? They likely won't be able to buy anyone of that level.

Come on just to make that point, plenty of champ clubs desperate to get up and then Hull cant even be bothered to try and stay up?

Steve Bruce made the right decision.

Its a fair point about social media highlighting behaviours that may have gone unnoticed before but at the same time current wage structures means that players are now getting too much too soon, nothing we can do about that either its just the way it is, however this will result in more and more people thinking they have already made it and and as a result they take the pressure off themselves maybe never fulfilling their true potential which is a shame. Its all down to the individual I know but its only natural it happens.

Anyway its probably a discussion best not have in the transfers tweets thread.

He's not exactly first choice at Southampton anymore. Southampton are either not prepared to pay him what he wants or offer him the length of deals he wants. West Brom must be prepared to.

As for going to a big club well that was never going to happen. He's not at that level and too old now any way he's 33.

What the feck is wrong with Hart, you bunch of cnuts. Not that I'm any fan of his, but he's better than Brave and also provides comedy value from time to time.

There is no way Navas is leaving Madrid, btw.

Yeah, he literally dug his heels in when there was talk of him joining us, imagine what joining the less glamorous neighbour would be like.

He’s also one of the best keepers around when it comes to shouting in the players’ tunnel.

Would you say he's head and shoulders better than Bravo?

Of course he is. He is also quite clearly better then Keylor Navas. I would laugh my ass of if City would go for Navas, switching one rubbish goalkeeper with another one, while the only proper one is loaned out. Hilarious:lol:
