Hector is quality but does he have the engine?
You really think he's quality? I rarely dare to make a prognosis if a player cuts it anywhere, but I'd have serious doubts about Hector at Chelsea.

Small text says that Lukaku already refused a deal, others are in doubt. Don't believe Mertens or Dembele would go, Benteke and Fellaini might. (if true!)
Just discovered i can read Flemish  Well i guess given enough money to club and player anyone would go. As good as it looks for Mertens right now, he is 30 soon, and probably never earned more then 2mio net, given that he never had a first 11-contract at Napoli. I guess if he's going to earn 10mio for a few years now, that would be more then enough to convince him over there.

True, but he really loves living in Napoli. He adores the city, not just playing for the team and so does his wife. He's practically become an Italian. But for 5 times the wage he gets now, he might go of course.

Report saying that we are only willing to pay Lindelof's 30m euro release clause and don't think he's worth any more. Sounds more realistic tbh.

Well, if we offer his release clause don't they have to accept? Or am I wrong about them?
The release clause apparently only activates in the summer, which was why Benfica were trying to get Lindelof to sign a new contract with a 60m euro release clause.

So why dont we just pay the release clause and get him then why were we messing about with paying 48m or whatever it was, also we are in a strong position, we dont absolutely need him and essentially would be buying for potential, I guess he could wind up elsewhere but would we be that bothered after conceding just 3 goals in 8 games.

Not sure why Chelsea want Tiemoué Bakayoko dont they have the ready made article in Kante? or is he going there to be one for the future? not sure. Conte certainly comes from the school of stockpiling players though.

Kanté and Bakayoko are completely different players.

How so? Or you think we need only one midfield player that will replace Carrick? We need more than that.

I think someone like Krychowiak or Fabinho would be a better signing than Bakayoko and I don't see why either wouldn't be an easy deal in the Summer. Krychowiak hasn't worked so good in PSG sure but I think he's Mourinho's kind of player.

On Bakayoko I think he's closer to a box to box than to a holding midfielder

I think we need another box-to-box type unless Mourinho believes Perreira can make the step up into the first team squad. Right now we're a Pogba or Herrera injury away from Fellaini being a fixture in the starting XI.

I wouldn't mind Krychowiak either, but the reason for his struggles is because he plays better as a box to box than a CDM. Motta has been keeping Krychowiak out of the team ever since Emery switched from a 4231 to a 433, as Krychowiak doesn't have the same ability as dictating the play as Motta or say Carrick has. So, Krychowiak wouldn't be a Carrick replacement either.

Thats what "success" does for you - the ship appears to have turned ,so as evidenced by Morgan Schneiderlin , we can now be MUCH more more aggressive in the market and far less "weak" with "mu$G" written on our forehead.

His clause is active in 2018
Cheers. I thought of a report soon after he moved to Leverkusen saying he has release clause that decreases every summer from 2017 onwards. I might go back and double-check.

Good price, good deal. Some were claiming we should be getting a lot more for Schneiderlin, which was a bit insane given that he hasn't played much.

This would be our first sale with a decent sum since... since...

MUST already planning a demonstration outside Old Trafford at the weekend demanding to know why the Schneiderlin money isn't spent yet.

Great deal, well done to Woody for making it happen.

Good luck to Schneiderlin. It's a shame it didn't work out for him here, but hopefully he'll rediscover his Southampton form at Goodison Park. Working under Koeman again will certainly make it easier for him.
