Good call. No more overpaying for players than selling them for anything. Everton has tons of money now plus they're in dire need for a quality CMF/DMF and they won't find anyone better in January than Schneiderlin.

China will make it difficult for European clubs to sign South American talents. Can see them having a top league within 10 years.

Don't they have a strict policy about only allowing 3 foreign players though?

Wasn't this also the worry when Japan created their super league? Or J-league.
But most of the over the hill mercenaries came back on the same plane as Wenger.

He's 27 and we paid £23m for him. I say take the £19m and run with it.

At 27 he should be entering his prime. Hold out for £20m+

We need to stop getting shagged when selling and buying players.

We seem pretty light in midfield. If we sell him surely we will bring in cover?

Against Reading I would want Carrick, Herrera and Pogba rested but what do we have? Fellaini, Blind, Schweinsteiger and maybe Fosu-Mensah?

Yeah I know, I'm just chuckling at it being common knowledge Mourinho is selling him, common knowledge we rejected £19m so Joyce has provided us with the really useful information that we want £20m or more.

Oh like that :p

Oh I see. €20m for Witsel who's only got 6 months left on his contract. Only in China I guess. When he moved to Zenit, you already knew he was more interested in money than any career based aspirations.

We just paid £27m for a player with 12 months left.

Also, City bought De Jong from Hamburg for about £19m with 6 months left.

Yeah but Witsel is fundamentally crap

I like the stance on not selling players for peanuts, but with someone like Schneiderlin, who has been barely passable as a Premier League player for some time, it's a risky game!

I agree completely. I love the fact that we are not being done on selling players which I expected having JM at the helm because of his past record in sales of players. But I think we should not look a gift horse in the mouth over a £1 Million. I think Schnederlin is up there with the worst outcomes in terms of performance and buys we have had.

Rumours that Zenit were prepared to accept 6 mil from Juve.

Unsurprisingly, which would have been fair considering the contract. Of course, a Chinese club cannot simply match an offer of a European giant like Juve if they want to beat them to players.

Always liked Witsel as a player, what a bloody waste of a career.

Banega might go back to Sevilla if Nzonzi leaves the club (according to La Gazzetta)

According to Il Corriere Morata would like to come back to Juve in summer

Madrid willing to do an offer for Alli. In another tweet they include Isco in the transfer.
All these rumors are mostly for summer, can I post it here?

According to Sport and Diario Levante Joao Cancelo has an agreement with Barça for the next season

We are run as a business by the same very rich family since the early '900s, with the occasional jewel to please the owner. Witsel is a pawn, he made the right decision for him and his family if China money is not fake (jury still out, not convinced they will keep this large scale experiment running for more than 6-12-18 months).

Ah another transfer window where translations are asked for on a tweet by tweet basis and some of us develop a rudimentary grasp of Italian/Swedish/French/etc. :)

Mata ?

------Fellaini--------Schweinsteiger----------
---------------Mata----------------------------

He'll the following midfield can work just as well

-----------------Fellaini-------------------
-------Mata---------------Rooney------------

And as you say Blind and Fosu are also valid options

I think Batistuta hated it too just a "job" to him.. And Christian Vieri preferred Cricket.

So much that he played through pain and dodgy knees so much so he can no longer walk without pain

According to Tuttosport, Milan will insist with Deulofeu, in the next days Ginés Carvajal will meet with Everton. Milan want a simple loan but Everton want to include a purchase option

Really hope we step in for Ricardo Rodriguez before Arsenal or Chelsea do. Its madness how teams like Liverpool have Milner playing there instead of making a bid for him.

Babel to Besiktas. What a pity, he was playing very well in Depor, but they could match the offer

Good signing. One of the best talents in the Belgian league this season.

What position and style of player is he?
Defensive/central midfielder. I wouldn't exactly say a 'Kante replacement' or anything but he's very mobile for his size and he cleans up in midfield well. Like almost everyone at Genk, he's been far better in Europa than domestically, and his stats in it show him to be a great all-action midfielder. Scores the occasional rocket of a longshot too.

Can never be 100% sure players like him will be a success story, but should he succeed I could see him doing a lesser standard Gueye/Kante type of job for Leicester. That, or he could end up a bit like Amartey, who was bought in to do a similar job but hasn't really taken to the league yet and looks a bit underwhelming at the best of times.

Cheers. Think it's exactly what Leicester need.
