headline says "Bernardo Silva? I don't think so, but you never know" and its a direct quote from mourinho.

Article goes on to say Mourinho didn't close the door to a possible signing of the player, which the english press has been linking United to, but didn't sound confident about it happening.

Mourinho said "next season with B. Silva? honestly, I don't think so, however, you never know, good players are always welcomed".

also, yeah i speak portuguese and i translated the second article from O Jogo, I didn't read the first but it should be similar stuff.

To the James thread!

You guys may want to moderate your tweeting habits a bit.

- No dodgy sources
- No foreign language tweets without a translation (which includes foreign language tweets in the hope that someone might translate it for you).

Added the translation to the post. Worked out quickly as well. Or we could just not share it, despite it being relevant to this thread.

I remember a tweet on here from (what feels like) a few weeks back saying of the in-demand Monaco players, Silva and Mbappe are probably the least likely to leave, with them wanting regular football and a stable environment ahead of the WC next summer, to give them the best chance of making it.

I think Mourinho's comments might back that up, or alternatively (and more likely) Silva might be a backup option in case we don't get one of our main targets.

I reckon of the Monaco players only Bakayoko and Fabinho are certain to leave.

I'm starting to get the feeling that if we signed him it wouldn't be for RM but rather the position we're hoping Griezmann will occupy behind the striker.

Yeah, though personally I think we could do with both. Still can't believe Benfica let go of him for so cheap without even giving him a chance in the first team.

Don't believe the nonsense you read here. We don't know what is going on behind the scenes.
Exactly this. He isn't going to give anything away at this stage. Moreover, I feel he'd have offered a more generic, non-committal response.

If we were in for him, he wouldn't say yes. It helps negotiations to say no, makes Monaco think we can move on to other targets, if they're playing hard ball over the price. On the other hand, maybe we're not in for him. It's muppet season, impossible to tell.

Jose:
"Wayne Rooney was ready to play, he was a big option. But I didn't need to attack at 2-0. I told him yesterday that he could be the key man but he can perfectly be here next season. He is a very important player for us. If he stays next season I'd be very happy."

Damn.. I thought we will have only good news today. :(

Aye feck knows what goes on. Just embrace your inner muppet and enjoy the ride for 3 months.

Well you do realize that Rooney has a say as well if he wants to stay or leave. I don't see him being a bit part player and being on a 250+k wage here especially since we plan on getting Griezmann and several other high profile players that will eat up our wage budget.

Jose is never going to say that Rooney has no place in United. What he has done is make it clear to Rooney that he will only be a bit part player from now on. Rooney knows that he'll hardly start any game next season so he has no other choice but to leave if he wants to play regularly. I just hope he chooses China so that we can get some money out of him leaving.

A forward player who has scored 1 league goal this season for Manchester united and seen much action is terrible no matter how much you want to dress it up.

Of course he hasn't scored enough - but which of our players have this season ? Rashford, Martial, Rooney, Mkhitaryan, Pogba ? You need to use Lingard the right way, you can't stick him on the wing and expect him to score. Lingard is one of the smartest players in the team, he always gets into positions where he can score...and granted, he hasn't done it enough but that is also down to the way we play. Last night he made a brilliant run and should have had a penalty....I doubt many others in our team would have made that run, or got that far if they did

It's admirable you stick up for Lingard but Open your eyes, he's a very average player. Instead of being subjective with he's great off the ball, very clever player and my favourite his unselfishness lets other players play better, let's focus on his output that is what really lets him down. Yes he made a good dribble through last night but as usual what typifies Lingard is it came to nothing yet again.

Rashford didn't score again. Is he average aswell? People love to play down Lingard but he has scored in 3 successive wembley finals. Im not saying he's a regular key player but we need players like him. He's a quality back up for the first 11 and a reliable, dynamic option when rotating the squad to play in 4 competitions. He's better than Welbeck was for us, an acadamy player, willing to accept a back up role, capable of creating or scoring for us in any game situation. He's much better than an average player, like Ashley Young as another example.

What's with all the Lingard hate on here. He might have been a bit of a regular for us this season but will surely be on the bench for most of next season. He is a decent squad option to have.

I'm certain Rooney will go. I think this is just Mourinho making sure that Rooney leaves on good terms by making it look like it was Rooney's choice, and he wasn't being forced out of the club.

Lol! Costa has been fecked.
Costa must be livid that they didn't sell him in the January window. He can't go back to Athletico either now that they are going to sign Lacazette. He will end up staying in Chelsea now.

According to La Gazzetta Morata says yes to Milan, 60m€ and 7.5 m€ for the player
