Barca would need to give us Neymar for Ander. We don't need their money so there's literally no price that'd make it worth our while.

Quality and quantity I expect this summer

I like [playing] with good players and Griezmann is a good player. I don't know what will happen.

This, Neymar is the only one we'd be interested in.

That Messi kid isn't half bad.

Even you could admit that.
Also 30 this summer...

Swap the best keeper in the world for possibly the next 10 years for someone who's sure to lose his biggest attribute soon?

He has about another 10 world class attributes so I'm sure he'd still do a decent job

"Sport" cover of tomorrow: New probably soon to be Barca coach Valverde wants Ander Herrera...

Not the first time the Catalan press have run Herrera to Barca stories this season. Mundo Deportivo were linking Ander to Barca a couple of months back. It seems inevitable a bid will come.

How could you swap De Gea for Messi ?!
Anyhow, only way Hererra goes to Barca is if we get a player in return. And the only one who could fit that profile is Neymar. Not sure Messi would like to work with Mourinho or would like to leave Barca yet.

Good move for him, ideal club for him to develop at.

Saucy bugger!
Also says, contract runs out next summer and Jose wants to renew at all costs.

He's not going to go from player of the year, on the brink of captaincy, whilst showing and talking absolute love for the club to signing for Barca and having to fight for his place whilst earning a lower wage in a league he said he doesn't like as much.

I'd fly to Manchester and fly DDG down to Barca myself even for 2 world class years of Messi. DDG is going to leave anyway.

Hoping we have more good times in here this summer. Reflecting on past good times and remembered this from summer 2013  Taken from the Thiago thread in the Classics threads but I feel it deserves a repost. Credit to @Solius for this brilliance.

The red curtain had been in front of the press since they entered the room. Voices whisper and mutter, echoing around the room with wonder. Today is the first day of David Moyes reign as Manchester United manager. It had been 15 minutes since the journalists were allowed in, when suddenly the lights dimmed.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, the moment you have all been waiting for..."

Silence.

Celebration by Kool and the Gang starts to play. The curtain lifts. There is a runway.

The music kicks up a notch... the announcers voice comes back on.

"Introducing, our first new signing. All the way from Barcelona. THIIIAAAAAAGOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Boom! Confetti bursts from the runway, Thiago comes out. He's on rollerskates wearing Man Utd speedos. He screeches to a stop at the end of the platform and does a wink and point. He skates back to the side of the runway and dances on the spot.

"Coming up next, signing number two.... KEVIN STROOOOOOOOOTMAAAAAN"

Confetti launches from the stage again, but Strootman is nowhere to be seen. The reporters gasp as they notice him ziplining from the rafters to the stage. Also sporting Man Utd speedos, he lands like a graceful swan, turns around and belts out a rendition of Oh Robin Van Persie.

The music is still blaring. "CEEEELEEBRAAATE GOOD TIMES, COME ON!". At this point the press are swaying side to side and clapping.

"Time for signing number three. We have no need for him but we signed him anyway. IT'S GARRRAAAAAYYYYYYYY!".

More confetti. Garay, donning United speedos, backflips down the stage. It's the greatest thing some of these reporters have ever seen. He flexes at the mic and then joins Thiago and Strootman in dancing at the side of the stage. They form a guard of honor.

"Time for the piece de resistance, people. Meet the man who made this all possible. DAVVVIIIIIDDDD.....MOOOOOYYYYEEEESSSS!!"

fecktonnes of confetti rain down. Moyes is in a bitching suit. He struts down the runway like a don, reaches the mic and signals for the music to stop. Suddenly everyone notices the human shaped object right by the mic that has been there the whole time. It is draped in a red sheet.

Silence. Moyes stares at the press. One journalist cannot take his death stare and runs out of the room crying.

Moyes grabs the sheet, and pulls.

It's Cristiano Ronaldo.

BOOM. the music kicks back on. Confetti is absolutely everywhere. Moyes rips off his entire suit in one move to reveal United speedos. He's also wearing rollerskates, nobody noticed this. Ronaldo, also in United speedos, starts dancing. Moyes does the best move everyone has ever seen. He is joined by all his new signings as they strut around the stage.

"CEEEELLLLEEBRRAAATTE GOOOOOD TIIIMES, COME ON!"

For some reason I went from talking about Herrara to De Gea mid post.

Mourinho answered tonight on press conference if we will sign Bernardo Silva: "Honestly, I don't think so".

:(

Seen some quotes that say the same but he adds "But honestly, you never know. Good players are always welcome".

As somebody else pointed out he wouldn't say yes anyway. I'm sure we had a similar quote regarding Pogba last summer.

Never seen this before!

In an alternative reality somewhere Moues is on the verge of earning his knighthood

When the usual lazy "journalists" were spouting stories and saying we were in for every Portuguese player alive he quickly said "I will not be signing any players from Portugal" and that was that.

Fire!

Two forwards I want the most are Griezmann and Bale. Bale, IMO, suits us much better than Bernardo Silva. If we stick to this counter attacking style, his pace and power in the transition will make us fecking deadly. A front four of Bale, Mkhitaryan, Griezmann, and Rashford, is fecking frightening. With Herrera and Pogba sitting behind. Having Mata, Lingard and Martial as the 3 reserve forwards is pretty tasty too, but I still think we'd need one more assuming Zlatan and Rooney leave. Perhaps that can be Andreas.

We also desperately need a new CM. We want four quality CMs, with Carrick as the fifth 'extra'. I'm happy with Pogba, Herrera, and Fellaini, but we need to add one more of quality.

Defensively, I'd have no problems if we had to keep the same personnel for next season. Only reservations on them is fitness. Mourinho knows how to set a team up to defend, and our record this season, in that regard, has been exceptional. Wouldn't be surprised to see a new CB come in. Lindelof is a decent shout because he can also play RB. But maybe Tuanzebe will get the nod.

Tofu should go out on loan.

Where did you get that from? I've just watched the post match press conference and there wasn't anything about Bernardo Silva.

@Sly Can you help out? Is this a credible source? Is that actually it?

Edit:

Edit #2:
headline says "Bernardo Silva? I don't think so, but you never know" and its a direct quote from mourinho.

Article goes on to say Mourinho didn't close the door to a possible signing of the player, which the english press has been linking United to, but didn't sound confident about it happening.

Mourinho said "next season with B. Silva? honestly, I don't think so, however, you never know, good players are always welcomed".

also, yeah i speak portuguese and i translated the second article from O Jogo, I didn't read the first but it should be similar stuff.

Thanks!

You guys may want to moderate your tweeting habits a bit.

- No dodgy sources
- No foreign language tweets without a translation (which includes foreign language tweets in the hope that someone might translate it for you).
