Don't think they'll have much money for this summer tho. Read it somewhere just around 60 million euro is all they can spare in this transfer window. Not counting out's ofc.

Musacchio. Kesie and some bonus for Donaruma, that's pretty much it.

Really? Thought they got taken over by cash cows?

I've said it before I'll say it again, there's some straight up money laundering shiit going on between Chelsea and Chinese clubs. Ramires, Oscar, Mikel and now Costa, plus all for crazy fee's, even more crazy than usual Chinese fee's.

There's something going on.

It definitely warrants a closer look. It is unusual for one single club to have so many players going to a particular country, especially with so much money involved.....something definitely stinks here. Not to mention the close ties between Russia and China in general.

Yeah, it's odd as fek, even by Chinese transfer standards.

For the reported 90 million? They'll fly him to China if needed... You'll be fine regarding the title race too. If he really wants to go and Chelsea cooperates and gave this go-ahead he'll be more than motivated to play these last few games as true professional to leave with the title and in good spirit. I reckon he'll look better in those last games after this than he looked recently being relieved everything is sorted.
I don't doubt that we'd sell in a heartbeat for that fee, just that anything has been agreed to yet.

Dont know what's hard to believe about huge fees for Costa and Oscar. Costa is one of the most famous (infamous?) and top class strikers in Europe and the starting striker for Spain. He plays for a big, super rich club so of course it would take a mega fee to lure him to China. Oscar is also a famous Brazilian who can be marketed very easily there. Ramires and Mikel didn't move for massive fees.

Any decent player from a big European club will cost a fortune for a Chinese club. Rooney, for instance could probably fetch you guys huge money.

It's not just Chinese clubs. The fees you get for all your players is very suspicious. I'm sure there's something dodgy going on.

I tend to agree.

The figures mentioned for Costa, aren't that ridiculous, especially when you consider how good he is.

Such as? Sold Lukaku for £28m which looks like a steal now. Sold KDB for I think £18m which is a huge steal. Luiz fee was big but he's one of the best CB's in Europe.

Oscar and soon Costa will be our only massive sales and it's clear why they're so expensive.

Perhaps they are just good negotiators? Or, perhaps, as a buying club you see they are owned by one of the worlds richest men and he doesn't really need the cash.

Chelsea aren't really a business, no matter how many balance sheets they put out, they are a club owned by a extremely wealthy individual.

It's shady if you ask me. So many Chelsea players targeted for big money move to China.

Costa is in his prime but that is still ridiculously overblown price for someone that is essentially a powder-keg.

And one very important thing to note is that not so far back we had those Chinese government officials coming out and saying they will put a stop to ridiculous transfer fee's and wages in Chinese football and we all know government controls everything there.

It's shady.

I just disagree. Nothing shady about it. Chinese owners watch big players and want them in their team. If they play for a big, rich club it'll take mega money to get them to come to China.

It just so happens that we have a bunch of players who are attractive commercially and are willing to go there. The likes of Costa and Oscar have won just about everything you can do in Europe so have nothing left to prove. May as well retire early and earn crazy money.

Tevez and Lavezzi did the same and it wasn't shady, was it? Just like it wouldn't be if United did it, right? You're only saying its shady because it's Chelsea.

It's not that overblown, we paid £20mil for RvP when he was getting on and in the last year of his contract, if you want someone you have to pay the cash, end of.

He is their leading scorer, I could see someone, easily paying £60-70mil for him.

I find it more shady we spent millions on Bebe, a players no one had heard of, and our manager (who admitted) hadn't seen him play - and surprise, he turned out to be shite.

Yeah I can see them marketing Oscar "here's a very good Brazilian footballer that's been warming the bench for the past year that we paid almost 70 million for. Don't forget to buy his jersey".

Tevez and Lavezzi never played for the same team (apart from national team) nor were they sold to China from the same team.

We can agree to disagree but it's shady.

RvP wasn't shady at all, we needed a top striker that year to win the league and since he wasn't getting any younger we couldn't afford waiting for him to come on a free next season, plus to annoy Arsenal, Wenger and their fans.

Bebe was shady but what's even more shady is amount of loanees (is that a genuine word or did havebi just made it up:D) that Chelsea has.

I'd love a shady deal for Madrid too .
I think that the fee is right. One of the best strikers in the world.
Although he has nothing left to prove it would quite disappointing to see him in China, with 28 and in the season of the world cup

Shady would be if we sold some no-name scrubs for huge money. Costa is our top scorer. Oscar was (up until recently) a regular starter for Chelsea and Brazil.

If we sold Chalobah or Loftus-Cheek for £50m it would be suspicious.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist but the Chelsea-Chinese link looks shady. 160m for Oscar and Costa....riiiggghht.

You are looking way too much into this.

Loads of football transfers are all about contacts people have made, relationships with agents etc. Maybe someone from Chelsea saw China as a booming market, built some contacts and thought, if we sell, let's try and get rid over there - more money, less likely to come back to haunt us etc.

In fact, Woodward himself even mentioned China as a market Utd could use to get rid of some players, it's just that we are probably further behind than Chelsea.

It's not really that much different than us using our favored 'super' agents such as Raiola / Mendes to get their 'clients', and them getting fortunes from us buying them.

I'm not saying RvP was shady, but it's an example of us paying more money than we wanted to get a player we were desperate for. We always over pay for players, why? Because everyone knows we have bundles of the stuff.

This is no different, why would Chelsea not try and get the most money they can, and why, if you have the cash, and it's no object, wouldn't you pay it.

There is no conspiracy here, just a lot of envious glances.

If Costa moved to another big European club how much would he go for? £50m? £60m?

Why is it shady that he may go for ~£75m to China? That's what it takes to convince big players to take that huge step down to a tiny, obscure league.

Erm, if you approach a top club to buy their best striker who's at his peak, you have to fork out top dollar whether you come from China, England or the moon.

It takes huge wages to convince player, not huge transfer fee.

Not saying deal is shady but transfer fee means nothing to player unless they get percentage from it.

Just saying that there's lots more transactions between Chinese clubs and Chelsea than between any other club.

I'm bored at work, gotta do something other than working every once in a while.

Costa's fee is fine. It was absolutely dodgy for Oscar, though. Ramires was £25m too wasn't he? That's a bit pricey.

Don't most players get a cut of their transfer fee these days?

Chelseas entire exsistance is money laundering. Look up the ties roman has with Russian gov and the oil industry. They have too much money so they buy public things in an attempt to buy good standing with the public. If the hammer ever fell on them the Chelsea fans would riot despite it being a human rights disgrace.

But not regular for Chelsea in his last 2 seasons. Just saying.

Don't think any other club had so many high money transactions with Chinese clubs like Chelsea has.

Yeah, IMO there's something definitely going on.

And regarding that last sentence, there would be no trains left that are safe if that ever comes to happen.

Bet few Chinese clubs were amongst them interested parties for Willian.
And why wouldn't they be?

You need a tinfoil hat, mate. You know you'd be delighted if some Chinese clubs came in for a bunch of your unwanted players. You just don't have any other than Rooney who they'd be interested in.

Its not a Chelsea issue. They just have more players willing to move to China.
Didn't Shaktar get nearly £50m for Texeira?

Occam's razor :D

Has anyone said the word "shady" yet in here? Some of those Chelsea-China deals look a bit shady to me.

It appears to be a Brazilian thing (Texeira, Hulk, Oscar, Ramires, Paulinho and with Costa and Willian linked).

Can you elucidate how many exactly? The one I know is Oscar. Seems I have missed plenty of others.

I have to say that what you have provided as evidence yet is close to zero so I'm curious what you will present. Media bullshit rumors without evidence don't pass the test, as we all know that many are invented by shady 'journos' and / or players' agents just as clickbait.

You try playing in a gimp mask and see how easy it is!

Practically every Chelsea player has played in a "gimp" mask and they performed just fine. That mask has nothing to do with your positioning and decision-making. He was at fault for Monaco conceding both goals. For the first goal, he didn't track Higuain back and left him all alone. And in the second goal, not only was he dispossessed, he had the option of clearing the ball but he decided to try and outsmart Dybala and Alves which didn't work in his favor. Bad positioning and decision-making, those two are absolutely unacceptable in a semi-final and especially against a team like Juve. Either way, he plays higher up the pitch and does not fit our style of play. His mindset is more attacking than defensive which is what we need for United to release Pogba next season.

The mask does limit your peripheral vision, making you more susceptible to being blindsided or pick-pocketed.

He is a CM and is not responsible for tracking a Higuain who is a CF, that is the job of the CB.
