If we sign that horrible racist Vardy that’s me finished with this United team.

What kind is scatter gun panic transfer strategy is this? Reeks of short termism.
Nah, short termism is giving up on your team after a signing you don't agree with. You will be sorely missed...

It's by a considerable distance the most likely outcome that we won't sign anyone.
Think there is a very good chance of this. However I hope they have their summer targets sorted and have made intial contact with the clubs. It is a world cup year and we really don't need last minute drama. It just makes us a look a bit amateurish at times.

"Manchester United have cooled their interest in Bordeaux winger Malcom and are now targeting a striker this month.
M.E.N. Sport understands United are unconvinced they can clinch a deal for the Brazilian and Mourinho is now believed to covet a 'fox-in-the-box' style striker."

Didn't want a striker in the summer. Even though I hate our reliance on Lukaku I don't want one now.

Ibra has obviously not worked out but I'd be more than happy to keep Rashford as the backup - If anything I wished we played him in that role more than we have. I know he's not prolific but he was outstanding when he had to hold the fort at the end of last season. Especially don't want him overtaken by a gremlin like Vardy.

I think our attacking problems like elsewhere.

⚽ the United ️ it is close to the economic agreement with Sanchez. Then it will be with Arsenal for January! @SkySport

One never really knows with all these speculations but there was something about Wenger's presser today that led me to believe we might just be getting Sanchez this January against all odds. He emphasised the need for Arsenal to first secure a replacement before letting Sanchez go. If we offer them good money, throw in Mikhitaryan and promise to pull out of the race for Malcolm, I struggle to see how Arsenal will not sell him to us instead of City who already have an excellent first eleven. The only other factor is what Sanchez himself wants. My gut says if we offer him mouth watering pay and bonuses and an assurance to start weekly as long as he's in form, he'll be heading to OT.

I don't see him coming to United.

City are romping home the league and can offer him substantially more in wages. Would love him to come to us though, but I just don't see it realistically happening :(

But we don't really know how his mind is workibg, do we? Does he really want ONLY City? We don't know. We do know United can pay him as well as City and Arsenal has a big say if he is moving in January. City will have to make both Sanchez and Arsenal happy to get him in January. Some rumours say that both Sanchez and Arsenal want him out of the club this month. If that is true, then it's not entirely up to Alexis. Never say never in football. We all thought Chelsea had Lukaku in the bag.

So would we. I just don't see it happening.

I think at this stage of his career he will be focused on winning as many titles as he can after the drought at Arsenal, and City have the league wrapped up so there's a guaranteed medal already, with a decent shot at a double of some sorts on the cards as well.

I would love it, love it, if he came here, but I'm not optimistic about it to be honest.

As you say, never say never, but my gut feeling (for the little that it's worth) is that he is City bound.

Malcolm has all the right tools to become the next EPL senzation, just like Hazard, Sanchez. Why are we not interested in him? if we fail to get Sanchez.

One of Mahrez, Sanchez, Malcolm is a must this january window.

Fair enough. I get your point and normal logic points towards him going to City. I am not sure anyone would be surprised if that happens. But like I said earlier, it was something about Wenger's emphasis on replacements that got me thinking. What if Arsenal really wants Mikhitaryan and what if Alexis doesn't mind United? Anyway, it's the silly season.

nah its called football and players go through periods of poor form.

2 goals since August. He’s not going to help us, especially with the service currently being provided to our strikers, of which he needs a lot of.
