I beg to disagree. At Wolfsburg, he has every chance to become a regular starter in no time and play European football.
How's that a disagreement? That's exactly what I said. As much as I'd love to have him here, a move to a club like wolfsburg is better for his career.

If Spurs can get that much for a bit part player like Townsend, I wonder how much they'd be able to weasel for a Kane or Alli. Levy is probably one of the most financially astute businessmen in the league. Woody could learn a thing or two from him.

Hes an England international didn't you know

Its not really that hard for them. They don't need to sell him and he's english. When we ever sell anyone, its because we need to get rid and everyone knows that.

 we're a mess of a club
 To be fair, Wolfsburg is, too, but the competition in the Bundesliga for places 3 + 4 is still wide open, at least more open than the EPL appears to be.

You are if all those reports are true, as are Real Madri, Barcelona, most big fish in the pond ... and Wolfsburg.

It actually would, and Wolfsburg may be not as strange as I initially thought.
Wolfsburg desparately need a striker now where Dost is injured - game time guarantee. Benaglio will stay at Wolfsburg - Swiss feeling guaranted (can ease any symptoms of homesickness). European football. Calm (or boring) environment, no outrageous expectations. Okay salary and a DoF who has proven he sells players who want to move. Makes actually some sense for Embolo if he wants to build his career carefully and doesn't put money and prestige club first.

I guess Allofs will pay €25m-30m now and sell him for €90-100m in 2 years time to Real or an EPL club. Win-win situation.

€100m? You reckon he will become the most expensive player on the planet in 2 years?

Probably not, its probably taking into account the massive transfer inflation we will likely have by then

Then I misunderstood you (thought you meant a 2nd tier EPL team), my bad, sorry. :)

Cassidy is right, that's what I meant. In two years time the fees will be ridiculously inflated.

He's out of contract in 2017 i Think and has hardly been featuring much for them.

How's it different to say us selling Hernandez ?

It would take close to what Real paid for Bale to land Kane

No problem. He'd probably play a lot for us too, not really setting things on fire, are we? ;)
Well, not really, but you have Martial, Rooney - and most importantly Louis 'My Captain Shall Play' van Gaal.
Wolfsburg have an injured Dost and Lord Bendtner.

The later 2 are issues we hope to solve soon but yeah, wolfsburg would be a better move for him ofcourse

Newcastle actually need a winger like Townsend and like I said, he's English and counts towards the quota for Newcastle; who coincidently have probably the worst bunch of home grown players in the league. As Andros Townsend is playing a backup squad role and they paid nothing for him; coming from the youth setup, they have nothing really to lose keeping him.

Take the situation with Hernandez, it's clear the manager didn't want or see a need for him by loaning him out. The club needs to shift him off the wage book and no one else would pay his wages with a decent fee on top of that. We were in no real position of strength to negotiate anything.

He'd probably play every game for us, to be fair, him on one wing, Martial on the other, Rooney up front....

Either that or at fullback.
Possibly but no guarantees with Mata being Mata and us eager in the transfer market. Wolfsburg is a more sensible choice for him.

12mil. for Townsend...can only imagine prices for English players when/if that new hg rule gets active.

That's in tune with Swiss local media and German media. A local newspaper reports that the negotiations with the player are advanced but not yet with Basel, and BILD claims his Mom gave her blessing for a move to Wolfsburg. :wenger:

Would be a surprising transfer to me but same could be said for de Bruyne when he joined them, and it paid off for all parties.

I want him here.
