@barcastuff: Tottenham have made Sandro (20) a formal four-year offer. Player didn't yet decide. Tottenham want deal before end of the year. [sport]

He would have to be mental to turn down Spurs to stay at Barca.

Cologne's news paper Kölner Stadtanzeiger refer to L'Equipe reporting Liverpool to be interested to bring in a German goal keeper in the summer: ter Stegen from Barcelona or Timo Horn (22, GK of Cologne) to Anfield.

I don't think we'll be signing anyone until we've sorted who the manager is going to be.
I doubt that, if we have any deals they'll probably go ahead regardless of manager, bit like Shaw and Herrera when LvG wasn't at the club fully. We won't dither this time as we're in crisis.

Hofmann had a decent start to the season but faded away harshly and barely played since september. He can be a decent player for Gladbach though €8m aren't exactly cheap. Dortmund haven't explicitly stated their desire to sign someone to replace him, but that's not surprising since they generally only talk about transfers when negotiations are all but done. Since Castro is the only convincing attacking option for Tuchel (Januzaj and Ramos haven't been great) I expect them to sign someone who will be at least offering as much as Januzaj, if they find someone who can also sub in for Aubameyang we might even see a bigger signing (though that's a 100% speculation on my part).
I don't think this is going to make things a whole lot easier for Januzaj.

@do.ob @Sphaero @Crossie What's that about? Are you signing someone to replace him in January? He hasn't played well recently, has he?

He did not horribly, but could never really take the chances he was given, especially as starter. Overall there was simply not enough quality or potential in his play to become more than a pure squad Option for us and as he wanted more than that we let him go for a good Price. I do hope we sign someone new in return as we are not terribly stacked in the offensive midfield in the first place. That or Tuchel sees enough already in one of our highly talented academy players (most likeliest case being Germany´s U17 captain Passlack) to give them a first taste of Senior Football. Given how young these players still are, I don´t see that as likely, though.

8mn seems like bonkers for 29 yr old Naismith but it just shows the kind of money Pl clubs now have.

Norwich seem mad after an experienced/workhorse premier league striker, they bid 2.5mill for Jon Walters last summer, a lad who is older and had less time left on his contract!

Late to the party, I know, but my 2 cents, mainly based on a recap of what our officials said:
Great business for BVB to get €8m for a fringe player with a knack for diving (which I can't stand at all). As indicated by do.ob and Sphaero, it's unclear at this point if we'll sign someone:
Our CEO stated about a month ago that if someone leaves in winter, we'd replace him. Our head coach stated before the winter break that he's happy with the size of the squad as is and doesn't want somebody to leave but can't guarantee. This would imply we sign somebody - from what our DoF recently suggested more likely a hot young prospect, no finished product - although Kicker magazine implies nobody would be signed for the sake of filling the squad.

If we don't sign anyone, an early termination of Januzaj's loan spell would be off the table - if it has been there at all.

Ahhh, the Transfer Thread is back. The RedCafe version of a cold pint after a hard day at work. This thread should give me comfort after another defeat at least.

Would be foolish of Everton to sell Naismith, very good player for them

Thanks again!

Rather have Adnan back than throw 20-30 million on an average player in Jan

Mane or Moura at this stage are much better than Adnan. Adnan is more competing with Jesse than these guys.

It makes no sense at all. Madrid selling on a cheap (well, cheaper than they spent on him) a player who has done well for him.

Also, he isn't fast and any attacker/attacking midfielder we like to sign should have pace IMO.
