News @RuizAntonito. "The @ManUtd are very interested in Saul. They offer up to 20 million. Now or in June".

He already is, unless we are looking to converting one of them to right back (looks unlikely) I can't see it happening.

Don't even think we need any more left backs. We're just very unfortunate that Shaw, Rojo and Jones (which means Blind can't go left back) are out.

Exactly. Borthwick-Jackson looks good too. We dont need to be wasting money in that area.

The start of the season made me think that Shaw could maybe be played as a traditional left winger, I even think that he could emulate Bale on the right.

But Bale was useless defensively so it made sense. Shaw is brilliant all round

I remember we were linked with this guy in the Moyes season as well when he was out on loan

And? If Shaw can be great higher and Rodriguez great in defense we win.

Very rarely i have seen a LB (or a full back) with good attack and defensive attributes a la Maldini and Lahm. Most full backs are like Alves who manage defence well and is good attacking wise. I wouldn't prefer spoiling Shaw and make him just a winger. Maybe it s because I used to play as a fullback in school but I love fullbacks like those :p. Haven't seen Rodriguez much to comment on his abilities in fairness.

M.E.N. are reporting that Ben Pearson is joining P.N.E. for £100,000. That doesn't seem much. According to the Daily Mirror that is.

What about this season though? If we can get a better left back for the rest of this season, we are more likely to finish top four (or win the title) therefore being in the Champions League next year, therefore being able to attract better players and, possibly, a better manager in the summer.
Well yeah, but we don't need to spend £30m to find a left back that can fill in until Shaw's back in a few months to be able to push for a CL spot. The reason we're outside of the top 4 at the moment is not that we're lacking a superstar LB. I'd argue that it isn't even due to lacking a capable LB. Our problems lie in the fact that we play a brand of football that makes us play against settled defences, and we just don't have the attacking players to unlock that. That's got very little to do with who our LB is.

We really do not need depth, we need immediately impact in terms of scoring goals. Yes depth is important, but not the most desired in my opinion.
We need both and its not like we don't have the money. We do what we can now, whether its a goalscorer or depth elsewhere. If both, great, but prioritizing like that could leave us with nothing.

Yes, but if we dont adress the problems right now, we will see a continuation of the lack of goals. Instant impact is very difficult to sign half way through the season tho.

Listening to Tim Vickery the other day, he said Corinthians desperate to sell and pretty much predicted a few premature plants by the club before an actual sale.

I wouldn't like to see Pato at Liverpool to be honest.
