Eh, sending him out on loan could have been a decent decision. I remember when he was played the common complaint was that he was pushed off the ball too easily etc. What made it an awful decision was sending him somewhere he was never going to play, as well as not bringing in another attacking player for us to play

I dont agree. He had a good start for us. We have few attackers. With the form of some of our players, he would have played. Why loan a player when we need him. I do agree to a loan when we got our shit togetter.

He had a good start under Moyes. This season he was awful. The loan was right, the club was wrong.

It was his own decision going to Dortmund.

Nice one, I think he could be a real asset in the second half of the season.

Yeah I remember now. Posted summary of the article in a new thread.

Not this season.

Pathetic from Januzaj.

Fecking pathetic.
All Januzaj does is fall over looking for fouls.
Why is it that guys like Januzaj who don't impress start everywhere, yet Herrera who impresses every game doesn't start any?
Need Schneiderlin on and Fellaini for Januzaj, who's been shocking. Shaw has been class.
Januzaj has been shocking.
If physicality is the main reason why Mata is not played centrally then having Januzaj there is making it worse.
Januzaj has been virtually non-existent in the 10 role again. He looks far to frail to hold up to the physicality that he's being subject to.

Rodriguez from what i've seen isn't all that anyway.

We need a fullback who can cover well on both flanks but is primarily a LB. Dunno who we can get ?

Also, it seems tough for foreign Fullbacks to adapt in the EPL especially those without pace.

We don't need a LB.

I think should we sign one when Shaw is back we can consider Blind and Rojo as only centre backs.

Valencia - Smalling - Blind - Shaw
Darmian - Jones - Rojo - .......?

That's the sort of depth we should have.

Januzaj coming back will be great for us can see him getting a good few run outs considering how few our attacking options are.
He could prove me wrong but nothing suggests to me that LvG will give Januzaj freedom to play attacking football.

Just turned over to Sky Sports and got very excited when I saw 'Man Utd in advanced talks with Borrusia Dortmund', then I saw the rest......Having said that, i'm glad we're getting Januzaj back. We should put him on the right when he comes back. He's not got blistering pace but he can go past players with ease and has that ability to do special things. He just needs a run of games.

Yes we do. Shaw and Rojo aren't available till march at the earliest, Blind will be playing CB for the rest of the season because Jones is a crock.

I've not seen that timeline on Rojo and you can't just keep buying, Darmian can play there while Young plays RB.

Rojo will surely be LB cover when we get a new CB in the summer, and then there is Young and CBJ for cover.

Is Young and CBJ really acceptable cover for this club?

Doubt we'll spend million. It will be experienced cover. What if Darmian gets injured?

Look how much freedom he gives Mata
That said, I wouldnt want Van Gaal to play Januzaj how he plays Mata. I'd much prefer him to hug the touchline and stretch teams like Martial does on the left.

Yes when they are cover for the cover.

Like I said you can't just keep buying, where does it stop? We have 3 injured fullbacks and 4 active ones, we could do with a CB more than a LB in my view.

Predictable but we can kiss goodbye to any chance of top 4 if all we're buying is a left back. How can anyone within the club think that our attack is acceptable for the remainder of the season after how the first half has gone?

Januzaj and Will Keane to save us.:nervous:

Sad state of affairs when our primary RB is an injured winger, our backup RB can't get a run of games or plays at LB, all while another winger is our backup RB.

Rodriguez is excellent, could become the best full back in the world in a few years, as much potential as Shaw and attacking-wise he's insane. He could probably cover at right back if needed and we might even train him there once Shaw has recovered.

He's a great set-piece taker as well.
