He never was on the list getting sold. Welbeck, Kagawa, Chicharito etc..... We need to switch to 4-3-3 and he will have his place in the team.

I'm sure that's a made up story by the Mirror, as usual. I would even wipe my arse with their newspaper if all else I had was sandpaper.

But I have been wondering where Januzaj will or will ever fit in.

He won't sell him for two reasons.

1. Adnan's a brilliant player and has a bright future here
2. Selling Adnan would be suicide and LVG would struggle to retain any support from the fans

Yeah that was actually the only reason why i think he will stay, the club probably wouldn't sell him even if Van Gaal did want to.

Surely LVG would of changed his mind after this game today(Juve's match), LVG is meticulous in his observations. He would of probably waited for this game the whole week. This game could mean adding an extra £10m to meet Juve's valuation.

They'd have a point too, he could go on to be one of the best players in the world in a few years if he keeps progressing at the rate he is.

Tbf I thought the same about Welbeck but it looks like the club is/was letting him go.

As much as i like Welbeck, i think Adnans potential is much higher.
Yep, but out of those we brought up, Welbeck has the highest potential. Plus he is English and the class of 92 loves that kind of player.

Anyway, I have already said it some days ago that I am surprised to see Adnan in literally every line up / formation posted here, but I have the feeling LvG doesn't see him as a starter yet.

Yeah. Also given the amount januzaj has been used, I'd say van gaal is a huge fan. First to come off the bench every game pretty much. came on for lingard early in the first game, came on for cleverley just to have him on the pitch even if it was center mid vs Sunderland, came on early for kagawa vs MK dons and then today came on for mata when he got injured. He's not a starter yet but he's played quite a bit so far, more then anyone else who isn't a guaranteed starter.

He was the last player to come on today and even that only when Mata got injured.

How many fees have been mentioned for Vidal at this stage? £30 million. £34 million. £43 million. €47 million plus Hernandez. €47 million plus Hernandez and Kagawa. €60 million.

Fecking ridiculous.

If Januzaj were in a position to say something like that on Tuesday, then we'd certainly have heard something about it by now - his agents/representation would be behaving like Welbeck's, briefing the papers and drumming-up some competition for his signature.

Basically I don't think there's anything in this particular line of bullshit; but then again I also don't think Welbeck will go, so perhaps my logic isn't foolproof here.

Yes today, as we had Di Maria on the pitch. Subbing him on wouldn't have been much use.
But he didn't come on for Di Maria, that's the point. I just haven't seen any indication yet of LvG rating him highly.

If we pursue a player like Reus next summer, it may give young Adnan pause.

I doubt he does. Probably views him as he is - a talented kid with loads of potential, but not yet remotely close to being a star.

So because he didn't get subbed on today earlier you think he doesn't rate him? He's a kid, 19 years old, he's obviously not going to be a starter yet. He gave him the #11 sshirt, or sanctioned that decision, and has used him quite a bit every game. It was always unlikely he'd be starting games this season considering our lack of cup games, so he'll have to live with being a sub until one of our attackers gets injured or he forces out Van Persie probably.

Perhaps, but we still don't know if the wing is going to be his position. Number 10 and even striker are definite possibilities for him which could help him.

If he produces some of the impactful performances he did last season, there's a chance he could force himself into the team this year. Sometimes a kid playing with confidence and purpose can beat playing the supposed finished product.

Nope, you said that he is the one who has come on as first option, I just pointed out that today he came on as the last option/sub, and even that might not have happened if Mata hadn't got injured.
Noone is denying he is a talented kid, but he is not a starter yet and therefore I am surprised that he is in almost every line up as a starter.

This would probably work better as a 442. I'd prefer a 433 myself, dropping one of the strikers to the bench, Blind maybe coming into DM

On that mirror article- I've heard of twisting quotes or reporting certain part of a quote for sensationalism, but I'm not sure I can remember quotes ever been outrightly made up. Hmm.

But if LVG let him go, he'd be an idiot.

I don't think it is a case of rating him enough.

Lvg basically has to choose between Rooney/Rvp/ Mata or change system and put Januzaj on the right because he does not fit in 3-5-2 formation. Lvg will eventually move to a 4-3-3 and Januzaj will flourish. However, he is not giving that system a chance even when he has his 'specialist winger' in Di Maria. Fitting Rooney/Rvp/Mata is effecting the team, if we changed to a 4-3-3, I am sure we would of won at least one match this season.

Oh well yeah and today was a different situation, as we had a similar player on the pitch and took him off when he picked up a knock as it wasn't working and we needed a deeper player in there. I'd think that he's a big fan of Januzaj though, there's no reason to think otherwise. He played him in 5 different positions so far just to have him on the pitch (wingback, striker vs Valencia, center mid, attacking mid and then as a winger), and he's subbed him on at times when it would be more logical to sub on other players. You have to remember how young he is though and people who want him to be a key player right away are getting ahead of themselves. Next season he might become a starter, or it might be the year after that. You can't tell with players that young but there's no denying his potential and we did give him #11 so I don't think there's any chance he'll leave any time soon.

We changed in first match and Young was playing left back. It was disaster.

No. We scored as soon as we changed formation. Then herrera got injured and we couldn't build from that goal. You also have to remember we had Nani, imagine if Di Maria replaced him.

News of the World did it loads of times. Did it with our own Di Maria

News of the World made up quotes said:
“Since I was 13 or 14 years old, I’ve been telling my mother and my father that my dream is to play some day for Manchester United," he said in the News of the World.

“And I won’t stop till I get it.

“When I watch [Wayne] Rooney and all of them on TV, I can’t wait to play there at Old Trafford.

“When I was a little boy I watched Arsenal games as well, but Manchester United always dazzled me most.”

It was from fourfourtwo, no?

I think they pick quotes from internet and without authentication. This was seen with Pogba story.

If this is the case, I wouldn't mind that. We have Carrick/Herrera/Blind/Di Maria until January.

But at the same time, Di maria playing Cm means we cant play 4-3-3. Which also means Januzaj can't play.

Ffs.

Why not?
