That's a screenshot of a deleted tweet he made. I imagine he meant to write "I wish."

I only want him for the helmet on his head. I want Bale for the aliceband. I want our full 11 to have some kind of gimmick. Maybe put a Indian head dress on Carrick.

Well, he didn't delete it.

The tweet he replied to is deleted tho, no idea if that picture is photoshopped.

From the article -

They (Marca) don't say the Portuguese defender has been offered to Manchester United, indeed there's no claim of that having happened or happening imminently, but what the Spanish newspaper do say is that it could happen and that Coentrao would be really up for it. Marca state that Coentrao has decided he'd quite fancy a Manchester United move and Jorge Mendes has promised to sort a transfer out for him.

Yeah, Mendes can feck off as far as this one is concerned. We'll need a bigger fish than that if Dave is leaving.

I don't think we'll hear anything definitive about De Gea until after the Hull game.

Didn't work for Falcao ;)

Well we should. We've been mugged off at least twice already by that mob. Absolute paltry sums for Beckham and Ronaldo because we decided to play nice.

I'd hardly call a world record fee a "paltry sum"...

Beckham went for £25m, which also, is not a "paltry sum" for someone who cost us nothing...

You see, people say world record fee and technically that's true but everyone knew it was a bargain. They weren't just getting a world class player, they were getting one of the greatest players of all time.

Also, with Beckham, £25m for one of the most marketable brands in sporting history?

We were done, both times, plain and simple.

At the time we sold Ronaldo the fees was 20-25 million more than the record fee, I am not really sure how much more United could have asked for (maybe should have included something based on goals :lol:)

When have these "Cash plus player" deals ever actually come to fruition?

I can't remember a single one...

Agreed. In hindsight it looked bad, but it was an unprecedented amount of money we received and as great as he was, he has gone on to exceed expectations further.

In retrospect, Nottingham Forest can say they sold us Keane cheaply... For the way prices were back then, it wasn't. Same for Ronaldo.

Beckham, though, was a crappy deal. And in installments as well.

Benteke would probably be a good signing, but then I don't really see him as a Rodgers type striker, might have similar style issues as Lambert and Ballotelli

Not sure why we aren't really interested in Benteke, specially if crossing the ball from wide areas will continue to be a huge part of our football.

hardly, he'd come of the back of 2 great seasons

Shit I hope Sterling and Cech won't end up in City and Arsenal respectively. I don't think we have much chance to land either of them.
