I bet they do, but those are the variables that Madrid could possibly be using in their favor to force our hand.
What are our options: Sell for £20m and use the money to buy a new keeper that potentially could cost us a crack at the title, or keep him and lose £20m but give ourselves the best chance of a title with the best keeper in the league?

Was about to say what Damien just did. Seems like we're after Carvajal and if we pull if off, it'd be a brilliant transfer. If we've dropped our interest in Clyne and Alves, Carvajal and possibly Darmian make sense.

Real Madrid's intentions are anyone's guess. Did anyone expect Di Maria to leave Madrid after last season's CL final? You can't really expect logic in their actions, so if Carvajal leaves I would not be surprised at all.
If Carvajal is available, I dont think we need to even look elsewhere! He'd be the best rb in the market atm.
