We don't seem to bid for players at non-CL clubs in other countries. So even when someone like Griezmann is young, playing a position of need and productive at Sociedad, we didn't go for him.
When we buy abroad it seems to only be from players at top clubs in their countries (Rojo, Falcao, De Gea, Anderson, Nani, Evra, Vidic, Hargreaves, even Herrera had CL football at Bilbao).
Maybe without significant Euro experience we don't trust our scouts?

Why would Koke go to Chelsea after turning down Barca last summer, makes no sense.
Barca could have spun the old 'yeah, come and play for us - on a pay cut', whilst Chelsea are more likely to offer a double your money deal.
Chelsea so far have been linked with Pogba, Griezmann, Stones, Godin, Dybala and Koke. I think these journalists are doing the old 'throw as much cack at the wall, hoping some will stick' routine.
