De transfer van Memphis #Depay is een bliksemtransfer. Pas deze week werd Manchester United concreet. Club troeft Liverpool en PSG af

Translation: The transfer of Memphis Depay was a quick transfers. Manchester United wasn't concrete until this week. They trumphed Liverpool and PSG

City look to be in the driving seat for Pogba, I think we should literally go all-out for Veratti. He's always been my preference, Pogba could be world class definitely but there isn't much between them except Pogba's flashier.

No, I heard him say the same on Football Today a few of weeks back. I was kind of surprised then too.

My guess is that he is saying this since Hummels, a right footed played, is our number 1 choice.

Ah fair enough then, although Hummels is right footed doesn't he usually play on the left?

Or at least i imagine thats where we would play him if he came here.

Smalling/Jones on the right with Hummels/Rojo on the left.

I doubt it in my opinion. Can't see him going to City with the other options he would have in Spain and France and maybe even London.

Not to mention Pogba would cost a fair chunk of their transfer budget this summer. And they will be looking to strengthen in 4-5 areas so just can't see it happening.

I'd prefer Verrati to Pogba. I'd be surprised if Pogba doesnt move to Real this summer though.

I would imagine LVG gave Depay an old reassuring phone-call though.
So far clubs I've picked up are Chelsea, Arsenal, citeh, Juve, Inter and AC Milan
Juve looking the most likely I take it?

Exactly. When Real are playing Ramos in CM in another important game you know they going to spend big on that position.

Might be a good opportunity to shop at the Rea Madridl discount store
I don't see Pogba's arrival forcing anyone out of that squad except Illaramendi. If they were to sign another attacking player though...

Sami Khedira, not that I want him but he's definitely out

Are the two twitter accounts mentioned reliable?

Paul Postman works for Omroep Brabant (province where Eindhoven is) TV, he's probably reliable enough.

Memphis checked his other options first (his agent was free to talk to all interested clubs, once Memphis reached a personal agreement with a club they could deal with PSV) before we swooped in and completed the deal within no time, just like we did with Blind. No mocking around - personal deal with Memphis, pay what PSV want and it's done.

Woody doesn't feck around, does he? He completes the deals in no time, which is good to see. The only exception is Fellaini, but to be fair that was due to Moyes making him pursue an unrealistic target in Fabregas and then decided to get Fellaini in the last second of the transfer market.

Yep and another transfer sorted without the press getting much of a whiff of it. I know that the press can be useful to unsettle a player but much more satisfying when deals are confirmed out of the blue like this.

This one always felt like the only issue was whether or not we were interested. Between LVG, the money we could offer, and (hopefully!) CL, it never seemed like PSG or Liverpool could match us if we wanted him. Glad we did and kudos to the both clubs for moving swiftly and decisively.

I think another factor is that the Dutch clubs seem a lot easier to deal with than clubs like Everton & Spurs

Probably true but i think there' more to it

1. FFP puts United in a strong position of being able to offer good money and someone like PSG cant hijack the move because it will have a knock on effect to their available funds (case in point being Luiz to PSG last year fecking up their chances of singing AdM.
2. We dont seem to be towing the 'value in the market' line anymore. SAF and Gill seemed to think that a player was not worth getting if it wasn't on the cheap, at least in the latter years. I reckon his detractors calling him a cheque book manager and how well he did in bringing in Ronaldo probably persuaded him to be a bit more cautious in how he spent. LVG and Woodward seem to be making offers that are fair to both sides, not undercutting the market and then closing off the deal.

If we are getting Clyne, who I dont want, given he has less than a year left, we should conclude the deal to something around the £15m mark. That in itself is too much.

Key quote here:

The 24-year-old was also asked about the rumours surrounding a move to Manchester United and replied: "I think if they were true, I would know about it."
