So basically, this is what Van Gaal said: “I don’t have any doubt that players are coming to Manchester United.”

Sunday World has translated that into United outspending everyone on players like Bale and Pogba, while The Mirror has linked it to Depay.

We are not obsessed with him. It is the media.
I don't think it can just be the media after all this time. They getting fed this story - maybe it's only from Cavani's side, but it just seems to be way too often for it to be purely media.

Surely that deserves blacklisting?

Is it even a contest? Given the links the lad already has with us (LVG, RVP and Blind) coupled with the very real possibility off champions league football not to mention the fact we'll pay him a better wage, Liverpool aren't a threat.

Trust me when I say that the Express make up all their transfer stuff. Look at the reporter for that story, for example: Neil Fissler.

His articles: http://www.express.co.uk/search/Neil Fissler/?s=Neil Fissler
His twitter: https://twitter.com/neilfissler

He's self confessed Rugby obsessed, and most of his articles are about Rugby. It is a load of twaddle.

That's exactly what it looks like - utter bullshit based on one real quote that actually says nothing at all. I'm embarrassed that people pay money for these rags.

Why even bother with tweets from the likes of the Mirror and the like ?

Don't think that's fair, Simon Mullock is a good journalists. Same goes for Steve Bates and David McDonnell.

Steve Bates at The Mirror is a pretty solid journalist. It wouldn't make sense to me for him to be blacklisted by-proxy.

Ian Ladyman writes for the Daily Mail, doesn't he? He's reliable, too. Should be the journalist and not the paper. Ogden for example has been poor to say the least and he's writing for the better paper.

Here's the Palmer thing, as expected quotes from the press conference which have been made a mountain out of a molehill unless there's more to them:

So basically he's just rewording that.

"So I also want to improve my selection for the next season. Then we can make a bigger step than only the process. It helps you in the process to be number one at the end," he said.

Mourinho, who was Van Gaal's assistant at Barcelona, took Chelsea to third place last year and after signing players such as Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, now presides over the league leaders. Manchester City have also spent heavily to become champions.

"Manchester City has done that also," Van Gaal noted. "We are trying to do that now. Sir Alex Ferguson has done it before. Jose Mourinho is doing it now -- but then last season he doesn't win anything, Mr. Mourinho. Now he is winning the title. Now I try to do that also."

In the last 10 years, Fabio, Raf, Wes & Nev have played major roles at right back! Am I missing your point?

Fair point. Neville and Rafael were good enough, but Wes was a center-back out of position who probably made more sense as a 2nd choice RB and 3rd or 4th CB. Fabio had a short run here.

Point is, I wouldn't expect our RB to come from the academy unless we have a top prospect there, and it doesn't seem like we do since McNair seems far more likely to be a central player when you look at his size and pace. Janko just doesn't seem to be regarded at the level of guys like Wilson and Pereira.

Miranda hasn't played that well this season. His future replacement Gimenez has been better IMO.
