Yep, that's him! The site he works for (Voetbal International) is 100% legit. They've been posting articles which say that Memphis' surroundings all seem to think he's coming. He is the dedicated PSV journalist so I think they got their information from him.

City/Real Madrid following Willems isn't strange either. He's a superb attacking leftback, got 2 goals and 14 assists this season. He's a deadly duo with Memphis. Defending wise he's terrible though (but he's only 20).

Ah cheers!

I'm aware that Willems is talented, but I was under the impression that he isn't ready for bigger clubs yet.

He's better off staying at PSV for a couple of years I think too. But he's definately a player that might someday be able to play for these kinds of clubs. He's 2 footed (scored with his right), has flair and can beat his man and has an incredible cross in both feet. He's very fast which he still relies on to defend. If his defending improves he'd be a fantastisc leftback. Still got the time on his side and he's loved at PSV, I think he'll stay for at least another season.

Thijs Slegers reporting serious interest from Manchester United for Memphis is enough for me. Welcome to Manchester

Deepay to United does seem somewhat inevitable. But then again, so did Strootman until he got injured.

Sorry I can't link the tweet but saw someone cite Graham Hunter saying City players are convinced they'll bid for Ronaldo this summer.

Even if its true, I honestly wouldn't expect him to go to City.

Mad dynamics behind the scenes with LVG, Woodward and certain player's agents. A whole invisible premiership with lots of bicycle kick goals, stamping and spitting. Oh to be a fly (fairly high up) on the wall.

Maybe this is like when Newcastle bid for Rooney, it will spark us into action... He will only end up in one place in England, surely he wouldn't ruin his connection with Utd.

Not sure if I could pick between Bale and Memphis if both become available. Surely Bale is the outright pick for most here if the price is right?

Yeah for me it's a no-brainer if it's a decent price. If we're switching to 4-3-3 we probably need two wingers though, so there's room for both :)

Bale in a heartbeat, proven class, however memphis is less money in wage and overall fees and would develop nicely under LVG. The real question is, do we spend heavily on Bale and 1 other as first team players, or buy 4 players to develop of varied skill levels and less overall purchase costs.

What about Di Maria, Mata, Nani and Januzaj? As well as Young, who has performed well this season.

We just need one winger. Two would be overkill.

Attempt to buy both Bale and Memphis, if Di Maria and Nani leave.

I much rather a front line of Memphis/Rooney/Bale than Di maria/Rooney/Nani anyday.
Throw Mata and Januzaj into the mix too, and all bases are covered. Edit: and Young for extra cover all the way down the left side.

The icing on the cake is Valencia for extra cover down the right side...next season I expect us to challenge on all fronts with that squad.

Depay Hummels are two players I have looked out for and been very impressed by. Signing those two would be great. I think a box to box CM is inevitable too.

I don't think Mata is a winger, despite doing well there in the last two games. Januzaj would be back-up/pushing the first team. Nani, who knows?.. but he probably isn't going to be here.

Di Maria, I'd love to see him back in his Madrid role of last year with us. If LVG doesn't believe he's a CM, then yeah I agree with you, we only need one.

If you are buying Bale as one of the wingers, you can also play him number 10 or up front. He'll give us some nice options.

Mata has played his best stuff for Chelsea and us out on the right. I think he's too lightweight to start in the centre.

Id be disappointed if we spend around £70m on wingers or more. Madrid will want to recoup a lot of their money on Bale. But anyway this is for another thread.

Depay is the exact type of player we should be after imo.

I don't see any need for Bale. We already have three left-footed attackers in Mata, Di Maria and Januzaj. Plus he'd be far too expensive, very good player but not one of the best in the world and Madrid clearly overpaid for him.

Depay, Hummels and Felipe Anderson would be a VERY good window. Add in a striker like Dybala and it'll match that glorius 07/08 window

That season, 2012/13, where he was at his best was on the right wasn't it? Oscar in the middle and Hazard on the left..

He started the season on the right (under Di Matteo) but was moved centrally as soon as Benitez showed up. He was miles better in the middle.

He's been great for the last two games but over the past few years he's proven he's a number 10 and not a winger, which even he himself admits isn't his best position.

Nah, that rumour makes no sense to me. If LVG wanted wanted him then we would've signed him last summer.

We'd be crazy to sign him a year after he went for a fraction of that amount.
