I would not be against Pique coming back, there's no reason he can't find form with us and he's played here before and was okay.

And how many of the 11 and 12 consecutive games for Smalling and Jones were played at centre-back.
I know they are always injured but that doesn't really prove it as they could have easily been dropped for one another or Vidic and Ferdinand.
It does show the lack of opportunities they've had to strike up an effective partnership though.

So, glaring defence problem that was obvious to everyone. Just like the midfield problem we had that has only just been fixed.

I wouldn't say the midfield has been fixed just yet. We are still lacking a combative midfielder with leadership qualities there too. I'm sure Blind will adapt to the intensity of the Premier League fine, but as of yet, his physical and athletic shortcomings will be exposed in midfield like they were against Leicester.
It's funny how nobody says anything about needing time to gel and stuff like that. It's like they just expect instant results. Of course it's going to be rough at the start, a new manager who always has slow starts and 20 changes combined over the summer, it takes time to get everyone settled and the time understanding each other. I said it after the QPR game, there will be great games like that, or games like Leicester where we look good at times and then awful and disjointed at other times. It'll take a few months of probably inconsistent results for everyone to settle. This exact same side though could challenge for the title next season imo, as long as it stays injury free. It doesn't need 100m or some bollocks like that.

If somehow we signed him, i would cum all over redcafe and it will be cream cafe or something. Wonderful player, can play as a 6 ar an 8, beautiful ability to get out of tigh positions, He also has great passing range. Him/ Rabiot/matuidi/moutinho/kondogbia from French league would be very good mifielders as a 6 or as 8 (depending on player to player). Cant see it happening though.

Am I reading you wrong, you only feel we need 1 more CM if we need any at all? If anything happens to Herrera for instance say hello to Fletcher or Fellaini as starters, and our only other #6 when he's finally fit is 34 at the start of next season. In my view we need 2 more CM's, both strong with defensive qualities and at least one with the ability to dictate a game, Veratti fits the latter mold even if the story is apparently total bullshit.
