I guess something fishy had happened behind the scene then? Like We didn't want to sell to rival club, Welbeck pushed for the move.

It's just a stat posted by a social media team ffs - you think Woodward sends a message telling them to take a dig?

Yeah. Just talking about that. Seems something may have gone down behind the scenes with him and the club.

That's not the right response from us though.
Wasn't it reported before the WC in one paper that he handed in a transfer request? Also another paper reported that he wanted to play CF for us also, granted that he played there against MK Dons and came up with nothing, probably didn't help his case.

Seems like the ''forced through a move'' stories were correct then. Can't imagine the club is pleased with the whole thing, especially with the earlier reports about Welbeck not being allowed to join a top6 club.

I think people see what they want to see, its hardly the clubs fault his scoring record is shocking is it? Yeah they probably didn't need to include that but that must be one of the softest "digs" ever if it even is one.

In fairness. The utd PR dept have neither the intelligence, humour, nor wherewithal to get that its a poor goal return for a striker.

They didn't post any stats when announcing the Kagawa or Hernandez deals. It was an obvious dig.

Wouldn't it be brilliant if Tom Cleverley really upped his game and started to take the Premier League by storm.

I've now got visions of him ponderously fingering an 'its happening' button, waiting for the right moment to start the Muppet party!

Probably not too far from reality there!! Woody is a money maker, so he will maximise publicity for the "united brand" whenever possible

Yep, quote has been changed slightly now on the Madrid website but he describes real as the biggest club, says he's a real Madrid supporter and everyone wants to play there.

That is bad form. Could have just called them "one of the greatest" clubs in the world.

Hernandez was a loan signing, they didn't need to sum up his United career. Kagawa isn't a striker.

Yeah sounds about right. Just a shame it didn't work out. Much like Kagawa and Chicharito.

I'm waiting to see which one of them dishes the dirt on last year's disaster first....

I don't get that one either. We have so much trouble with finding defenders, so what's the point of letting one go on loan?

great move for Utd and Keane, he will play regularly for them and will come back to us with more PL experience

that's Woody for you!! Imagine the shirt sales he will generate!!
Mixed feelings... I really loved Welbz. Followed his progress since he was 12. Sadly, he never quite made the big step up. He's been let go because of the burgeoning talent of Wilson. I know Wilson will be an even better player for us but Danny was the quickest United player I've seen bar Ronnie. Can't help but love some hard-working, fast running, athletic strikers. He was our lad.

But, I respect his will to play more first team football. We have a very important season ahead of us and we can't have someone who is still figuring out his form in front of goal. We need finished products and also help along the next line of talent through.

Perreira, Wilson, Powell, Rothwell... As Louis Van Gaal said: We will keep focusing on youth development, but right now the return of the first team to greatness is the most important thing.

Goodbye Danny.

Man utd will have an extra 3m followers because of Falcao's connection with Colombia.

Can't help but agree with what you say, though Welbeck was seldom played as a striker for us
