The main shame about it is that he's a home grown player, but he still isnt and never will be good enough to be our 1st or even second choice striker.

I think he's talented and if given a run of games as a striker he could come up very good for them thus helping them to pip us for 4th place.

He will be 29 in Jan or Feb I think it is. If we splurge £30m+ on him at that age at the end of the loan spell, given surgery twice on the same knee, I think it will be RVP MKII. Instant success and then an older injury prone and expensive forward. I want us to keep Welbeck just in case!

More than likely our No2. Have you seen our back up keepers? Good keepers but could be better. Not including lindegaard in that mind.
 
Would be happy with £16mil for Welbeck.

Think its a shame to lose a home grown player and Wellbeck does offer something different and is a very hard worker....he seems to have done well in some big games, in Europe for example. Shame....other side of the coin though, his goals record, final pass, movement, touch and ability to play with his back to goal have always come up short. We dont know what goes on behind the scenes, personalyl if I was the manager I wouldnt have forced him out if this was the case....however of if its Welbeck that wanted to go (as rumoured last year) I wouldnt have stood in his way either thats for sure

SAF told Heinze to f off regarding the Liverpool move. I still don't get why we'd let him tell us where to sell him. He'll be great for them, suit them really well.

I wish him well. I'd prefer him to stay or go on loan. But to cater to his wishes like this is daft. Don't care how long he's been here. We don't owe him anything, no way should we be selling him to Arsenal.

Surely it's at least 20m.
 
bbc say Welbeck is done for £16m, Sky say not yet.

Either way, we best make sure the Falcao deal is 100% done before we sign this one off!!

Never mind that. Why the feck did we not break the bank to get him instead of settling for the average Di fecking Maria? Pfft, it sucks being a mid table club.whittoxt
