They sell us their first place striker, we sell them our third (hell, now fourth) choice striker. This stops our direct rivals from getting an actually good striker who would help them get higher than fourth.
The main shame about it is that he's a home grown player, but he still isnt and never will be good enough to be our 1st or even second choice striker.

The plus side to Welbeck going to Arsenal is that it will piss Levy off royally. I don't want to see him go, but if he can't get enough game time then he has to do what's best for his career. I wish him well, even though it appears it's his choice to go. Shame it's to Arsenal though after the Vermaelen snub (even though i'm glad about that) I do think he is extremely similar to what they already have though. Cleverly should take a leaf from his book.
