Good. We aren't running a charity here and if Arsenal feel Welbeck is good enough to lead a title charge than £20m isn't anything to quibble over. If Borini is worth £10m than Welbeck is certainly worth quite a bit more than that.

£20m or no deal.

If anybodfy was told at the end of last season we would sign DiMaria, Falcao, Herrera and Luke Shaw I think they would be very happy. Two genuine world stars, a very good central midfielder and one of the very few young English players with world class potential and then add in Blind and Rojo...it has to be considered a good window for sure, I hope we are switching to a back four though as there definately isnt a back three of defenders that fills me with anything other than dread with what we currently have, stunned we havent moved in for another centre back as of yet.

I think our tactic is to get a really good fee from Arsenal, I doubt LvG and the club are really keen for him to stay when it's clear he is wanting to leave.

Apparently he's getting £180k a week, a lot less than he was on at Monaco.
Liverpool fans have already picked up on the £360kpw Telegraph tweet which means Falcao will now and forever be paid £360kpw, even if we showed them his contract saying 180kpw.

Yeah...unless tancredi is quoting net rather than gross....as it seems most in spain and italy tend to do
Someone said that it doesn't matter whether Tancredi is saying gross or net, as there is no tax in Monaco. Either way, I think there is no chance we'd pay over 250k.

I think it's quite clear there are no decent midfielders or defenders on the market today or Woody would've gone mental with another mega bid.

Loan could be done after the transfer window, unlike selling/buying players, or am I wrong?

Yeah, disappointed stuff from Welbeck to be honest, if he's trying to force through a move to Arsenal.

I'd say we either ship Welbeck off to the likes of Spurs or someone.. if he is hell bent on joining arsenal, then he can prosper in our U21's this season for all I care. We cannot, under no circumstances, let him go to arsenal unless they cough up top dollars.

Why? It's clear LVG has no plans for him for this season at least. Surely he's just looking after his own career.

We should look after our ambitions - Can't sell to a direct top 4 rival!

I know, but it makes them feel better, God love em.

Exactly. LVG did right by Welbeck and clearly told him he would struggle to get more than the odd start here or there this season and that he was free to secure a move elsewhere. United aren't denying him a chance to move, but they don't have to give him away for a pittance just because he wants to play. If Arsenal want him so badly then they should be willing to meet the valuation United have placed on him.

Again Fabio Borini was moved for £10m. Welbeck is a far superior player than him.

Sometimes we have to do what's best for the player, especially when they've come up through the ranks . Anyway, Welbecks not a regular starter for us so it's not like we're selling him one of our main players.

Why does he have every right to say that? I wouldn't say we've treated Welbeck badly what so ever. He's an important player in my eyes.
Well if he's not wanted at United he has every right to look after his own career, which a move to Arsenal would really benefit him and probably the perfect option for him.
