The book-keeping going around is terrible tbh. What is Eto'o + 10M (6+4)? What does 6+4 even mean? Is he paid in instalments? It doesn't show anywhere in Aldo's line which seems to indicate a remaining budget of 12+12+10 > 31 by 3M.

Further, is part of the deal that Kroos is now going to Aldo and not Edgar? Can names just be swapped like that? It's all a bit anal but it's still quite weird.

As for the latter name swapping is just simplifying the fact that once he gets Kroos for example, he will sell him to me for the same price, which is a part of the deal.

Yeah, when I wrote that it hadn't been edited yet and it just said 31M, which didn't stack up. Agree the Kroos stuff is fine, the question is if someone raises, what happens? I presume you ahve to choose whether to keep bidding and Edgar is under no obligation that you end up getting him. Right?

Think the one I have done above is accurate. If he is only getting 6m now, then his final balance comes down to 1m. Although edgar has 14m left over by my calculations, not 20m.

Yes it is based on a planned sale, which if doesn't go through, I don't get the 4m. Like a clause.

And again yes for the second part, Edgar is under no obligation wrt Kroos. In fact, because the initial deal fell off, he had to give up on him.

Maybe playing Lucho in CM next to Seedorf would've been a better decision in terms of covering and completely for the midfield, but I'm confident that he's work rate won't be an issue here because he is one of the hardest working players in history. So just because he's not a "natural" right winger doesn't mean it should be problematic by any means.

Yeah, I see it the same as antohan. It's not really a problem in terms of ability, I just find it odd that you would use him at right midfield simply because he is versatile and not because he excelled as a right midfielder. It's like using Zanetti as a left midfielder because he had played there sometime in his career, or using Schweinsteiger as a winger because he played there before 2009 or using Raúl as a left winger because he was played there during a season.

I just find it odd because Enrique was just a decent right midfielder, when he played there. For all of his versatility and ability, he wasn't that notable on the right. My memory's a little fuzzy so I don't remember everything, that's why I keep looking back to press at the time.

In 1995-96 for example he was regarded as the 8th best right midfielder in La Liga. MD, 1996 (scroll to the bottom, look for "Volante Derecho")
1994-95, 2nd best right midfielder. MD, 1995 (same instructions)
1993-94, not in the top 8. MD, 1994

But from what I've shown you earlier, as soon as he was moved to the left and then to the centre he was seen as someone "who's ability was maximised" as per one of the pieces I referred to in my last post. And that certainly fits in line with how his productivity skyrocketed at Barcelona.

I don't know who other teams are playing on the right, but I know for certain that Enrique isn't better than Figo there. If anything I would've just sold Rui Costa and played Enrique in the middle, and get a real right midfielder. But that's just me, I don't know what everyone else is going to notice when they look at your team.
