Well I didn't really plan it, it all happened by accident :lol:. But I like to have a strong core that excelled together in reality. Always a brilliant way to build a team, you instantly have a great identity. I'm really happy that I made the Keane deal with trippy, looks much better now.

Yeah for sure. Looking good. Hopefully you have Lopez up top with Crespo and not on the wing where he usually is in drafts. I think he's best up top where he can play on the shoulder of the last man. If he gets through 1 on 1 he's not missing.

Haven't made the final decision yet. I agree with you, I like him individually more in a strike partnership with Crespo, but overall I prefer a 433 formation. If I get Overmars, I probably play Lopez as an inside left, I think it's better for the team.

Yeah....at Real Madrid. I assume you want the Barcelona version, no? He scored 18 goals in 213 games at Real Madrid used mostly at right midfield or right back... plays left wing in his first season at Barcelona and scores 18 goals in 50 games. Then LVG comes in and plays him in at #10, in centre midfield, left wing, and even at centre forward and he scores 25 goals in 50 games. No chance he played on the right wing when there was a certain Portuguese winger who played at the same team.

I guess it's more the fact that he played there rather than he excelled there. Enrique's best years were probably from 1996-1999 but he wasn't a right winger then

Lucho's biggest skill is his versatility, even on his RM days he always moved all around the pitch, and that shouldn't be mentioned against him. He is brilliant all round midfield and I don't worry about it, it's not even playing him "out of position"..

I've had nothing to do with that. All Balu's ideas. It was only Lopez I mentioned when I saw he had Crespo, Simeone, Verón... it just rolled off the tongue really.

The issue is to play him that way in these drafts you need a 4-4-2 or a diamond, which clearly isn't what Balu has. I personally always imagine him as a left forward more than a "winger" when he gets depicted on the left. I don't see a problem at all with that notion and he would very much play how you described. At least in my head.

The reasoning seems to usually be to counter an opposition player or to protect you're own weak link. Cutting off your nose to spite your face as far as i'm concerned. It would probably force me into an instant vote against.

That's what I meant by playing him as an inside left. Don't think it's that different to Villa, del Piero or Henry on the left in a 433. Don't see anything wrong with it.

I could play a diamond though, imo. Aimar instead of Overmars and Simeone Cocu Veron in midfield should work, but I like the 433 more.

I had an absolutely mental formation in mind to fit the 2 in. Was a 3-1-3-1-2 Bielsa chile type formation. Would have tried it out for the laugh but don't think it would have went down too well.
