Yeah, I believe you. I honestly have no clue how that 30m fine would work? If you can't afford Costa, you loose the player, your overall budget is reduced to 270 and you're again in the same situation as before, right? Then you loose Kaka, your budget goes down to 240, well fecked again? Or am I missing something? I've no idea how that will work, but I don't have a solution either, in case no one outbids you on one of your expensive players.

I was thinking the same. If someone ever gets in a position where he can't afford a player, the 30m fine would just make it worse right? I suppose he could sell his current players to make sure he doesn't get hit with the fine. A fine at that stage would really kill anyone.

I believe he should be allowed to take bids back for 10m fines. For example, step back from Vieira, so trippy's bid is highest again and loose 10m budget. If he does that for Henry and Vieira, he's still in good shape to build a strong team, but it hurts a little.

No but that doesn't work - because if he does that, I will have a bid on Vieira that I cannot afford anymore due to dealings I made as a result of his bid on Vieira...

You're of course allowed to step back from your bid as well without a fine. Just restart the player completely then and everyone can bid on him.

That kind of screws the game, because than someone can end up getting Viera for 10M because he saved money for late.. I say in this case Aldo has to give up one of his players, get a 10-15M fine, and that player is out of the draft for everybody else.

Yeah, that's probably best. But the fine can't be 30m, that would destroy his team completely.

Is anyone interested in buying Pedro?
Maybe @Annahnomoss ? He's looking for 10m signings, afaik, and any Barca player would be great for him. But with Neymar already in the team and his bid on David Silva, he might not be interested in Pedro.

I messaged him, waiting for a reply :).

Was wondering if anyone else was interested too. When you look at some of the amounts that pacey inside forwards like Pedro are going for, I think 10m was a bargain for him (considering he actually has pedigree at international and club level rather than some who currently don't). Shame he doesn't fit what I need. Got this far with my PL heroes, can't not continue that now!

I'm a bit worried, we might clash again for a player .

This will all be moot when Theon/Pol get here and bid on Kaka.

Aldo just has to sell some of the players he buys, no big deal. Lots of people would take Rui costa or Kaka

You can try and take MY Yaya, but you will suffer a very painful defeat :)
I don't want Yaya, he's so overrated in England. He's standing out at a time when there's not a single brilliant midfield in the league, but looked out of his depth in Europe 3 seasons in a row now.

One of the most ridiculous comments I've seen, like ever.

Nah, this season he was finally partnered with the right midfielder for him in Fernandinho, allowing him to focus on staying lazy but going forward so well, and it shows in how many goals he scores and assists, along how "suddenly" he's technique became incredible. It's simply a manner of getting the best of him, kind of like Ibra, if you don't do your best to get the best out of him is fairly average, if you do he's brilliant.

Was hoping to sneak de boer in at the end. :(
Me too.

What's not true about that comment? He looked clueless against Napoli, Bayern, Dortmund, Ajax and Real. His standout game in Europe was against Real when he scored 2 goals against the run of play, but his team was overrun the whole game and he could do feck all against it.

He doesn't get away with it against stronger midfields though, then Fernandinho isn't enough. He's best played at the tip of a 3 man midfield, but then I'd much rather have an AM than him.

His performances in Europe are driven by the collective team he performs in. In Europe, no one player can have the impact without a solid team behind them. Only Ronaldo and Messi can perform at their individual peaks in big games irrespective of how the rest of the team is performing.

I can think of many a player who you'd describe as going missing in Europe but still say is a great player. Or vice versa. Veron was shockingly poor in comparison to his best in England, doesn't mean he is overall a terrible player.

I never called him terrible, I just think he's massively overrated on the Caf because of his performances in the league and especially against United. Which is brilliant for you, if you get him, btw ;).

It your opinion bud, and thats fair game :). I just think yaya is a very good player, and if he played for a team like Real Madrid in Europe, you'd see just how quality he is.

He's basically a luxury player, at least at City. If you want to get the best out of him, you need to have two midfielders doing the dirty work. He's superb on the ball, his vision has gone up quite well as well, constantly picks out wide players with quality passes, etc.

He can't be arsed to defend, which is why I would never be comfortable with him in a pivot role. He was arsed to do that when he was at Barca.
