Me and PaceMe had a big bid-war on the Barca trio and neither of us could possibly win all three. At the same time nobody else really had their eyes on them.

So I told him I'd buy Iniesta of him afterwards to not further inflate the already inflated prices. As Iniesta was the player he had planned to build his side around he wanted 19 mill for him which I think is fair.

I'd have wanted around 30 mill myself to give him Busquets and Xavi.

They had a deal in place. They were both constantly outbidding each other for that unit and Annah was willing to pay paceme that premium for walking away and letting him have all three.

If you check, Iniesta's bid was expiring 3-4 minutes before Xavi/Busquets so if Annah tried to pull a fast one (aka "a Gandalf") pace had time to raise Xavi/Busi. TBH, at the price he bought them, I would have done it, see if pace really has the stomach to get Busi for 56M. Xavi alone would be punishment but, at 68M, he would be mad to do it.

I agree. Paceme really wanted Messi as well so I doubt he would have bid for all 3.

Indeed, he was already committed there as well. Of course, pace would have been livid, but he would deserve it for being such a tight cnut :lol: Annah was already paying more than enough for that unit and there was no reason to worry about losing credibility for future deals as he now has feck all money to make any deals with :lol:

I think that is pretty obvious though I'd be more surprised if someone went on a limb and said they don't know. Like if someone gets Keane and Scholes, you can assume they'd target Giggs, Beckham, Cole and Yorke? :lol:

That's where the money side comes in and competitive instincts aside it should be possible to nail down some epic sides. All six in our 4-2 from 99 qualify and really aren't worth as/that much without each other. I can see crappy selling to trippy and VivaJ may as well sell Giggs if he opts for a diamond and wants Rivaldo instead.

In snake drafts that's not possible because there's no money to make up for differentials, which is why it was manic to rule out wheeling and dealing among managers in a draft which had exactly what was required to make that work: finances and the ability to extract value which is absent when muppets argue over whether we should bid 40 or 45M for Thiago Alcántara. "It's not my money". Well, here it sort of is.

Why not keep it 75 and nominate now? Was there some issues with the 75 list? Seemed to have gone as smooth as the 50 man list from what I've seen.

Antohan has done the work already. Easiest would be for managers to be allowed to add players as soon as bids gets finalized. That way we'd have 75 constantly.

Once you do include some to "even up" with those who hadn't submitted you could maybe follow a snake draft order for introducing new bids so that you are not all bickering over who has dibs.

Don't think there's a need for a rigid additional list, just loosely following an order you can refer back to to settle "disputes".

I think just including a maximum of one player per manager will be easier. What happened last time was that 5~ managers made 55-75 nominees.

If we make a rule that nobody can make more than one per hour then that should be alright. Considering the original list is already full.

5 people will still make 10 nominations in 2 hours, but at least it won't be the rush for it.

It was communicated from yesterday that we will start nominations at noon. Those have yet to do so can nominate. They know they can come in at noon to nominate and will not be deprived of doing so because they were not around when bids close. No flip flopping, noon it is
