We will never have it finished in 2 days with 12 hour deadlines. So I would say 8 or 6 is more appropriate. People will up their bids as fast as possible rather than sit and wait then.

Agreed. Personally I don't have a problem with 6 but 8 is fine as well.

We have had 6/8 hour limits for picks in a lot of previous drafts and it worked quite well.

So it has been tested. That is great then, I much prefer it as a 12 hour one is harder to be available for as you need to be available for days rather than a day, or a day and a half at top.

I updated the transfer post, we will go with 6 hour deadlines starting at 00:00. The other, maybe better option is to start them right now as people will be asleep those hours.

You have to take into account time differences. Suppose I make a bid for player when it is 2 AM BST. It closes on 8 AM BST. That would give someone in UK no chance to bid for players.

2 to 10 still gives someone a reasonable chance.

Since noPace is here. We can revert the 00.00 to time right now and make the deadline as 8 hours !

Everybody are! I think 6 hour deadlines would be less complicated than 8 hour ones. People wouldn't be likely to be in a bid-war for too long, if you want your player you should bid before you leave sort of thing.

Anyhow for me either is fine.

Some players will be in demand here. Let's say an 8hr deadline is set, starting now. 7hrs from now someone ups the bid on X from 15m to 20m. What's the new deadline for that particular bid? Another 8hrs?

Yes, which is the issue. As these drafts has shown, a lot of people do stuff like that in hope that the opponent had spent money elsewhere and tied himself up.

One obvious way to speed things up and not have to stick to 12 or 8 hour deadlines would be for those leaving for an extended time (i.e. sleep) to leave behind their maximum bid on any one player. Not relevant here as you would want to do that with a neutral mod, but it would be far quicker and avoid players going for peanuts when someone was willing to fight for him.
