Just tweeted by Gibson:

Would it be unfair to say that's one of the best thing's Gibson's ever done?

That is class. I'll definitely be watching the next couple of WBA games to see fan reactions.

Quinn brown-nosing SSN, but Simon Jordan telling them like it is, basically saying deadline day is for stupid clubs.

Spurs doing the usual and trying to fool their fans into buying big names. Aguero, Llorente, Rossi and now Damiao.

"Big names" may grab the headlines, but instead we signed Lewis Holtby for £1.25m - which very probably will prove to be the best deal of any Prem club this window.

He's another Jenas, a so-so midfielder on high wages you can't get rid of.

Lot of good that is, when you don't have a top striker.

Newcastle got some good deals for cheap and a few good loan deals.

Holtby would be on good wages with his contract expiring too.

You have to factor in wages and the fact that he wasn't really necessary when you already have Dempsey and Sigurdsson for that position. You're always very quick to proclaim your signings as the best in the universe though.

Jenas wasn't on high wages.

I'm assuming that - with all your reknowned insider knowledge concerning Spurs and all - you know what Holtby's wages are. So do tell.

Holtby was an excellent player for Schalke by all accounts. Your "so so" dismissal holds about as much credibility as your usual predictions about Spurs do - namely zero.

Funny that when we signed Kagawa you said it's not certain how he's going to cope in the league and generally dismissed his performances for Dortmund in Bundesliga, but seem pretty excited about Holtby who played in the same exact league.

You already have Nani, Young, Valencia and Giggs, but that didn't stop you dropping 15m on Zaha .... which is roughly 12 times what Holtby cost.

I didn't say Holtby was the "best in the universe (your usual distortion let's you down again), I said he he'll likely represent the best deal for the money concerned.

Giggs is 39, he won't even be here when Zaha comes

More of your usual distortions. I did not "generally dismiss his performances for Dortmund in Bundesliga". In fact I said that I'd barely seen him play and passed no opinion on his playing abilities.

Yes, I did say it wasn't certain how he'd cope in the Prem (as with most new players). But he hasn't exactly set the world on fire has he?

He's been good in glimpses, he'll prove to be a good signing. It's not really important here.

The difference in the strength of leagues (apparently there's a big one according to you) doesn't stop you from proclaiming Holtby as a 'very probably the best deal of the window'. Why was it important with Kagawa but isn't with a player Spurs sign? Be consistent.

What did Kagawa cost, including all possible add-ons? Compare it with £1.25m .... then go figure as to why I say that Holtby will likely prove to be the best deal of this window.

Who do you think is the best signing then?

Zaha is coming next season, giggs will still be here.
