Transfer Deadline Day

"Could Gary hooper be the next big signing" there hasn't been any big signings at all today

Kevin Phillips to Crystal Palace? Why would Blackpool let him go? He scores goals at that level, doesn't he?

OFFICIAL: Real Madrid Castilla have signed Sao Paulo's Casemiro on loan until end of season with option to buy.

He's joined Real's reserve team, isnt he supposed to be a top young player? Iv seen people mention him has one of Brazils best young players.

FM legend.

Just shows how well United have been run under Sir Alex. Generally (I only ever remember Berba?) ever bought on the this day which was Spurs a tactic.

Should never have bought berba. Never mind, it was proper exciting at the time.

Guardian TDD page:

There's someone at the door at Guardian HQ. Should I leave my chair to answer it? Or just assume it's Peter Odemwingie and ignore it?

They bet the house on getting him and now they're stuck with Becchio, who looks very much a Championship striker.

definitely. Much like that other leeds striker beckford, just not good enough for the premiership.

Villa pulling out the big guns and signing Simon Dawkins from Spurs on loan.

From a business point of view, getting business done ASAP is the smart option....

On the contrary, getting deals done early makes sense from a footballing point of view (in that if you are wealthy and offer big money you'll likely get your man before anyone else stops it), but financially speaking the best deals are often done late.

Depends really on the players situation and how desperate are the buying/selling clubs.

There have been many overpaid deals too at the last.

I don't understand why anyone would want to wait until the last day to make a transfer, you have got 30 days to get your business sorted out.

Madness to hear Norwich went to 9million
They even had a private jet waiting at Glasgow Airport.

Their in the shit so they sign a young lad from the French second division and a Spurs reserve team player. They need experience to keep them up this season that team is going to finish bottom of the league.

This Odemwingie saga boils down to poor communication between the club and player.

Proper clubs don't leave it to the last day to sign players. I think the Berba thing was touch and go because City came in interfering and throwing offers all over Europe for all types of players on that day.

Villa are in deep shit. QPR are signing everyone and Redknapp is a.decent manager. Reading have gotten some good results recently and are on an upward trend. Wigan always get better with their backs up against it. Newcastle have signed half of France.

They could conceivably finish bottom. They are that bad and haven't improved.
