Wolfgang quote after the silver "Now we are going to celebrate by drinking not like the Norwegians"
I like him, he has a fantastic personality.

Evgeni Plushenko is simply amazing.
Jeff Buttle gets a bronze for team Canada :D

Hasek update:
Dominik Hasek has a 30 to 40 per cent chance to play again in the Olympics for the Czech Republic.

Team physical therapist Pavel Kolar said Thursday through an interpreter that the 41-year-old goalie had a tense muscle in his left leg.

Big ups to the Noggies for helping a Canadian lass (Sara Renner) win a silver in cross-country skiing.

(Sara) Renner's pole broke Tuesday while battling for the lead in the women's cross-country team sprint final, and within moments Norwegian cross-country ski boss Bjornar Hakensmoen handed her another pole. Norway was in contention at the time and finished fourth.

In an attempt to repay this show of good sportsmanship, Canada's speed skating clowns are appealing a decision to the CAS (Court for Arbitration in Sport) for a Noggie lifting their skate as they crossed the finish line

I can't believe that I'm watching snowboard racing. This coverage over here is killing me.

Well done Shelley Rudman !

GB's first medal in the Torino Games.......a silver in the skeleton luge.

Well done, kid!

Yes it was fantastic, and to do it all in just 3.5 years really shows how much natural talent she must have. :)

Seeing and hearing all the interviews with her afterward, she sounds so amazingly happy and overwhelmed by it all, a genuine and grounded sportswoman.

A shame the same can't be said for footballers and those in the more traditional mainstream sports here in Britain; well less and less often anyway, to the point of it becoming an almost endangered species at some time in the future you might think.

It can be such a great thing, us winning the chance to host the summer games in 2012; i just hope the government don't screw things up funding wise.

Tessa Jowell said this >>

And Jowell, secretary of state for Culture, Media and Sport, said: "Congratulations to Shelley Rudman - it's a tremendous achievement winning the silver medal in the skeleton.

"It shows what you can achieve with hard work and determination. She's made us very proud."

Yes that's all very nice and political but the government is failing our sportsmen and women in both the Summer and Winter Olympic events, Shelley Rudman's home village had to a whole host of fundraisers to get her to Turin in good shape, that shouldn't be happening.

Anyway, i'll get off me soap box, WELL DONE SHELLEY! :D

Let's all hope for more success.

Today there is the Curling, Skeleton, Ice Dancing and Skiing [Women's Combined] to look to.

The Aussies won a Gold in the freestyle moguls.

Even if he was a Canadian until a few years ago.

Hasek says bye bye
Sportsnet has learned Dominik Hasek is expected to be sidelined the next two weeks with a strained abductor muscle.

TORINO, Italy (AP-CP) -- Czech Republic goalie Dominik Hasek of the Ottawa Senators is out of the Olympics because of an injury that happened minutes into his first game in Turin.

Hasek told Czech team officials Friday that he was heading back to Ottawa without a second Olympic meda

Niiiice that.

I don't give a damn about it either but Sweden beating the yanks in ladies hockey is comparable to Belarus beating Sweden 2002.

Foppa won't be crap:nono:

Im not suprised that you beat the USA cos Finland "nearly" beat them... Was 3-2 up after 2 periods(Yes they lost the 3rd period 4-0 of summat).... So theyre not unbeateble, Canada is though, Fin will lose 11-1 to them....

He cant be 100% fit no fecking way. As I said dont expect too much from him...

Of course he isn't 100% but he's invaluable in Powerplay, Foppa dictating our powerplay is a couple of extra goals.

I watched this thing on Eurosport the other day. There were these two women rolling on a log in water and the first one to fall off the log loses.

Was it an Olympic event? It was really cool.

He started his company at 13 and when 15 the Canadian eam asked him to quit and ski full time. An ex-Canadian coach who now lived in the Ausssie snow fields suggested he becomes and Aussie because they would allow a more flexible training program.

Not so sure about the Canadians anymore. The "new" refereeing standard in hockey seem to prefer the technical teams. Russians and Slovaks looking really good. The times where Canada could bully the others are gone, i.e. like when injuring Forsberg in the first period.

Did anyone see the women's snowboard race (I can't remember the name of the event) where the leader tried to do some showboating over the final jump as all her competitors had fallen over, and she fell over and lost her gold medal.

I think she was a Yank.

fecking ref he has been watching a video for like 10 mins if it was a goal or not in the Canada-Switzerland match.

No goal excellent save by Gerber.

Of course Canada will win it, but it is worth of laugh only that they have such a problems.

Gerber is doing "a Friedel performance against United."

Gerber is quality on his day. He has played for the team I support in Sweden for 2 seasons before going to NHL and he was unreal some matches. Unfortunately some other matches he was Dudek.
