Top 4 race 2016/17

We are not a top 4 team and frankly I don't want to be in the champions league when we are this sh!te. Playing Barca, Real, Atletico, Bayern, PSG etc now would be devastating and embarrasing.
 
Top4 is over imo. I cant see us going on a winning run and hoping for two above us to drop significant amount of points.

Its possible but not probably imo.

Europa League or bust (but saying that, we will not win Europa league and win League cup meaning Europa again next season).

Honestly, if we don't win the Europa and assuming we don't come Top 4, I hope we're not in the European places at all. Rather have no Europa next saeson.

yeah but we won them both by 4 goal scorelines. Going to Istanbul and de kuip isnt easy. Also the knockouts are two legged so technically we'd have knocked out both Feyenoord and Fenerbahce.

Can you imagine Moyes if that happens, he'd release a book about how United should have given him longer.
 
Need to do something v Tottenham. A lot down to how smug their fans can be, despite never winning much.
They take a special glory that their top end in 25 years, is currently a bit higher than our lowest in 25 years!

Guy at work reckons we'll "park the bus" at home to them. That's Tottenham fans circa 2016

If we keep drawing 5 out of every 6, we'll probably not have to worry about Europe anyway
 
You're on target for 57 points. You need about 2.04 points a game average, title winning form to finish on 70 points.
 
With Spurs next week, might be a matter of time before people realise we're going to have to go all out in the EL.

A draw away at Everton is never a disaster, it's the way it's come after what was a disaster of all those home draws that kills!

Even Fergie saw us lose a 2-0 lead late on at Everton once.

Game midweek, need to sort that Europa out. Am sort of embracing the Europa now, get some random fancy team next round, after years of the same old same old complacency of the Champions league.

I think you'll find that we are more interested in trying to finish in the top 4, seeing as you are a rival for that it's a huge game next weekend.

Outside of this what Utd do or don't do is of little interest to us, in fact we would much rather you be winning things than Arsenal.
 
Forgive me if I'm getting this wrong but 2 finishes outside the top 4 in 3 years if we fail to reach top 4 this season - does that mean our deal with Adidas will be reduced to £50m/year?

Improbable? Try impossible. They're the Top 4 experts and there's no chance they'll lose a spot. City have been rubbish off late and we're yet so far behind them. The best we can come this season is 5th.

Or go through the 73 rounds of the Europa and get in that way.

Its only 4 rounds and a final after the groups stages if we can qualify(In doubt at this stage given our away form in Europe).

By the time the knockout stages come around it looks like our PL games will be meaningless. So we could just rest players.

I know the results haven't been good but I'm enjoying the season. All I wanted the last two seasons was some good football to view even if the results aren't quite there. Today wasn't that good a performance but in general, I've enjoyed the season. I don't really expect anything from this season so some enjoyable football is fine with me. Just don't want Arsenal or Liverpool to win the title.
 
Wtf, 9 points already, forget it. We are so bad, can't defend a lead. We're an euro league side now, that's our level since the sir left us.

I don't enjoy the performances at all personally. We play cowardly football against anyone good, fall apart when we go behind and just make so many stupid mistakes.

Outside of that run around December last year under van gaal, it was much easier to get behind his team. At least we showed some character and fight under him, though his ideas were a bit dumb at times. This season feels like Moyes' shitfest.
 
We should be targeting Spurs and Arsenal. They won and we dropped 2 points. The gap keeps getting wider.

We need to go on a title winning run from here on to have a change of finishing in the top 4.. This is fecking dire

Although I remember Liverpool doing just that in 2005 for the other cup!

We've played cowardly football because that's what our manager wants in those games. I can forgive the poor football in tough away games but in general our football has been pleasing on the eye and a lot better than the last few years. I'm quite relaxed about United this season.

If they'd won it and they had European football, I don't think their league form would be this good so maybe they won't complain.

And till that Everton game I hoped we still can change our fortune and go on the run to challenge for the league. After todays result there is absolutely no chance we can win the league and the season is over for me, I hope we will win some cups at least.
 
After Spurs we have Palace, WBA, Sunderland, Boro and West Ham. If we don't get at least 12/15 points we can kiss goodbye to the UCL, let alone the EL.

It's not so much people saying woooo we've come 4th, it's the fact it can be a springboard to progress.
For us it also means gaining the full Adidas contract.

Well, you hope by the time we get there, ie next season, we'd have rebuilt to a level we could compete.
