Could someone get one of those passing-image stats of his performance tonight? I can imagine a lot of long lines showing successful passes. MotM by a distance.

96.7% pass completion. He is the anti-Cleverley.

RvP and Mata threads were littered with posts like this.

Yes and both signing were amazing but this one would top it all, it just seems impossible that a guy who starts for the best in Europe (the world), who has the trust of his coach would leave his club to join us.

Would love him to come to us. Don't see it happening though.

Hardly think it's fair Bayern having so many good CMs though, they could at least let us have one of them.

152 passes with a 97% success rate. Not bad

Unbelievable....Martinez almost looks disposable for Bayern with Lahm doing so well

You could see him scoring 20 a season with his shooting skills

Great save from Szezney in the first half tio

That was incredible.

Up there with anything I've seen from Xavi at his peak, that performance, albeit in non-stop power play during the second half.

What a player.

I don't think it would be an exaggeration to suggest I would take him over any midfielder going if I had the choice.

After what I've just seen I would agree. He has absolutely everything and a great mentality too. It's just not fair.

Good thinking, men. To the Martinez thread!

Money bro!

Definitely on a another level tonight.

If I was Moyes, I would not quit no matter what until he was a United player. I would pay twice his price to get him.

If I was Moyes, I think I had to, to be sure to keep my job.

He's a top player, no doubt.

If he leaves Bayern, I really don't think we will be the one to sign him I'm afraid.

The thing with Kroos is that even if we are offering double what Bayern are willing to pay him....he still has 1 year left on his contract over the summer and Bayenr would definitely hold onto him as they are not a selling club even if a player has just 1 year left on their contract......I am guessing his contract with Bayenr will be signed and sealed very soon after this performance

I'm honestly still a bit stunned at how good he was. His passing is perfection. Not seen anything like that in years.

Maybe unfair or not warranted.

I hope Moyes watching this guy is suitably embarrassed after paying 27 Million for Fellaini, and now realises the quality of player needed at the club to compete with the very best.

That's one of the best midfield performances I've seen in years and years.

As dominant a performance as Xavi in his pomp. When you consider players like that don't tend to peak until late 20s/early 30s it's a little frightening how good he will become.

Also, I'm not sure I've ever seen a player so consistently brilliant with long shots. Could have very easily had a hat trick from outside the box today.

Probably because a player of his quality would attract Real Madrid & Barcelona, if by chance he was available and I doubt we could win that battle.

I think we're overrating him based on today's performance. He's a good player, but people tend to go a bit overboard. Madrid and Barca could go after different players (Vidal, Gundogan etc).

Jaysus, it's been a while since that's come into my mind. 27 million. feck me.

The positive is, at least we are forking out what's required to land a player. We've seen it in the signing of Mata too. I'd like to think that we're finally deserting our penny pinching ways, and are ready to adopt a no nonsense approach in the transfer market, similar to how Bayern do business. I really do hope so anyway.

We're not just competing with Barca and Real these days. City, Chelsea, PSG, Monaco, just to name a few.

Vidal is a different type of player, and Gundogan don't have the same goal threat. He's also had his fair share of injury issues.

It was an amazing performance, but it was also against ten men.
He was incredible all game, kind of a reminder why a Gerrard of the World cannot compete with a player of his type, it was like watching Scholes in his pomp. Sublime player and yea Robben was also incredible, intelligent football all round from Bayern, amazing gulf in quality between our top clubs and the like of that.

Yep, but the overarching point is we can get him if we really want him and are willing to pay. The idea that United is not one of the most attractive destinations footballers is completely wrong.

I can see Pep doing everything in his power to keep him. He's ridiculous. Peps wet dream.

This is depressing but from a footballing point if view, I almost despair of the thought of a beautiful player like him playing under Moyes draconian systems.

He was class but silly to be losing the run of ourselves when he had no defensive responsibility for over half the game. Sure, he was great when it was still 11 v 11 but tonight not the ideal yardstick.
