Gaming Tom Clancy's - The Division | Division 2 announced

Had an ok time this morning...
So hard finding DZ groups... Well, it isn't, but you join > load > get kicked about 5 times, then you get put into groups with lower than 201 gear score.

Finally got into a group of 4.... 2 left within 5minutes, so was just me and one other guy. Limits what you can do.
It would be nice if you could filter your search

Try joining in a different area dark zone, they seem to find players in particular zones, most people hang around 2/3.

Anybody on PC want to help me out? My GS has improved significantly since the most recent update, but that obviously doesn't make you a good player. I'm struggling to kill NPCs in the DZ, and I feel that my weapons suck big time.

A 4 an 2 gear set would be a start to get some good bonuses, whatever your play style is.

I'd look to replace some of your weapons, look to the specialist vendor for those.

@MoneyMay I'd be worried that your primary DPS is so low.
With my favourable gear set up, my score is 201.

My DPS is much higher (nearly double), while my toughness is just short of 200k

Also, you have an SMG as both your primary and secondary weapon - meaning they both use the same pot of ammo - which means you will run out quickly.

Keep one as your primary, and the try out one of the other weapon types as a secondary - Marksman, LMG, Assault Rifle, Shotgun.

As for DPS vs Toughness, I think more and more people are prioritising Toughness now. 245k isn't too bad.

You have a whole load of credits - so I would look at your gear and recalibrate it where you can. Either adding mod slots to items, or adding armour. I recalibrated one of my items yesterday - spent 70k to get a mod slot on it, but then saw that adding a firearms mod only boosted my DPS by a few thousand. I spent a further 100k credits on re-calibrating it and got Armour - that boosted my Toughness my over 50k.

@swooshboy
I haven't tried this, but was curious. That gear set that replenishes ammo while strapped to your back.
Any idea if that would work if you use an SMG and had one on your back. You'd never have to re stock

Good haul tonight. Work in the morning and 2am here :( great

On a positive, with the gear I've picked up, I can quickly switch and get my ammo over 1800 with the SMG.

That was good craic. Got loads of stuff, but nothing of any use currently. Got a decent 204gs shotgun though - never had one.

Ya that's why I'm ages in the safe house :D I equip 2 X loan star and police backpack and can get 1700 bullets for my SMG.

Enjoyed my updated loadout. I swapped a few bits, still 3 striker and 2 final measure, but I have better health on kill and better Survivability stats. Survived alright and still enough power to kill a few in DZ 6 with 1 or 2 others in a group

I think that the Lone Star gear set only reloads your weapon from your ammo reserves. Having 2 items does give you 100% more ammo, but when you switch weapons, then it just automatically reloads the holstered weapon - it doesn't grant you additional ammo.

I'm thinking of mixing my gear sets up. Right now I run 4 striker piece, but I've been thinking, the 4th piece may not be as good as I thought. When fighting from a slight distance it may not get me much of a bonus.

I'd run 3 nomad for the 20% health on kill, but the first bonus (scavenging) is so weak
The 50% exotic damage is appealing, especially with all them cleaners in the DZ that seem to put you down in seconds  . I'd just need to decide what is more important. 4th perk of striker or the 15% protection from elites I'd get with final measure.

The only other options would be sentry call. +30% headshot damage and 20% damage to elites would definitely make up for the 4th perk of striker, but am I right in thinking, the headshot damage only applies to semi auto guns

---------

@swooshboy Ah right, the way it was worded made me think it would replenish ammo.

@Igor Drefljak ya depends on what you want and what way you play. I could use 4 strikers but run with 3 and 2 final measure. Worked out well for me as the abilities on the individual final measure pieces give me additional protection across the survivability section of my character.

Apparently 3 striker and 2 sentry is a favourable mix. Not used it myself though as I have no sentry gearset.

I run 3 striker + 2 sentry with Savage gloves. Gives me a lot of dps. Can recommend it.

Currently have 4 Sentry and 2 Lone Star.

Am sticking with the 4 Sentry, as it fits my playing style well (M1A primary, Aug secondary). Might be tempted to change from the Lone Star - perhaps to Striker (+20% enemy damage), or Hunter's (+20% marksman critical hit damage - but my crit chance is not that high, plus that wouldn't benefit my Aug at all).

In saying that, am liking having the +100% ammo capacity that the Lone Star affords.

But overall am pretty happy with my loadout right now - certainly much better than it was a couple of weeks ago. I've stopped caring so much about DPS, and focused more on Toughness (am around 320k right now, with 75% Armour). The DPS stat doesn't accurately measure the damage you can do anyway.

I still have the Aug that I bought from the BoO a few weeks back, and got a 204 First Wave M1A from the DZ a couple of days ago which was a huge upgrade over my 163 M1A. The talents on both of these are pretty good - not perfect, but am more than happy with them. Will obviously keep an eye out for any better versions of these, but am v happy with what I have.

Does anyone use the M44 marksman rifle? I got a v good one from the Incursion last night - has the Coolheaded talent so each headshot (not kill) reduces skill cool downs by 5.5%. I use both the Support Station with Ammo and the Health Booster - so think I could get pretty close to 100% upkeep - which would be very useful.

Got a 204 aug with self preserve, If I use pulse and first aid with the dmg+resistance buff I can literally stand infront of heavies, crit headshot them and not lose any health  when using 1 is none aswell if your lucky you don't even need to reload before killing them. If the ammo does run out though you better run :nervous:

Completed the clear sky incursion. Easy enough with the right loadout. Cba making the skills character right now, no point really.

Nothing left to do now as expected. Got too much good stuff too quick in DZ in the 1.2 update.

Thanks guys. Had been ages since I last really played but made a lot of progress in that short session with you handing me the better gun @swooshboy and doing the weekly HVTs. Struggled to get groups to do them before today so missed out on improving my score. Getting gloves from doing the one I haven't done yet (healer) should improve me further.

Your welcome! Always nice to be able to share a drop, rather than just deconstructing them! Was a pretty decent 204 Aug - had I not bought the one from the BoO a while back I would have definitely kept it :)

They nerfing everything in this update, AUG & Vector getting a 10% damage nerf, Explosive bullets 75% damage nerf, fire bullets 75% less time spent on fire, M1A gets a accuracy nerf,

At least I picked up a nicely rolled MP7 from the DZ in case I return to the game anytime soon.

Not liking the changes they are making with this game.

Reducing the damage of the Aug, for example, only makes PvE more annoying and less fun. I appreciate that they don't want everyone using the same gun, but then make the others more attractive. Don't keep nerfing those that people like.

Also, they have twice made the blueprint for the Aug available, and had a very good one available to purchase at the BoO - so it's not exactly surprising that people are using it excessively.

Changing the requirements for the sentry set is also annoying - meaning you can't get all the bonus if you want to use 2 pieces from another set.

Not the 204 though, right?

You now need 5 striker or sentry sets for the bonus.
Not completely correct - the 4th piece bonus is still on the 4th slot, but they've taken some of the 2 + 3 bonus power away, and added it to the 5th piece. Still a dumb move to do it anyway IMO.

GAME CHANGES

Gameplay

  • Added a new Dark Zone bracket for 231+ Gear Score.
  • Player stash size has been increased to 70 total slots (including Base of Operation upgrades).
  • Level 30 players will now only encounter level 30 or higher enemy NPCs in Free Roam.
  • Rebalanced NPC’s weak points to be more consistent across the board. This impacts the amount of damage needed to trigger them and the amount of damage it does when triggered.
  • You can now convert three High-End Division Tech to one of any High-End crafting material.
  • Reduced the Phoenix Credit costs of 204 High-End and 240 Gear Set items and blueprints.
  • The Special Equipment Vendor in the Tech Wing only sells items now and will no longer sell Blueprints. Blueprints have been moved to a new vendor in The Terminal.
  • You can no longer share an item that you have equipped.
  • Adjustments have been made to NPC threat lists that caused players to stay in combat for large periods of time. You will now leave combat after reaching a certain distance away from the enemy or after a set amount of time.
  • Players will now be disconnected from the game server if they are inactive for 15 minutes or longer.
  • Players can now matchmake from inside no-respawn areas and can fast travel into activities while the group is in a no-respawn area.
  • You can no longer kick a group member in a boss fight and up to one minute after it has been completed. This restriction does not apply to group members who are AFK or outside the mission area.
  • All players must now be present in the final Circle in Clear Sky before you can interact with the laptop and fuses.
  • NPCs located in the final Circle in Clear Sky will instantly respawn once killed until players enter the area.
  • Players can no longer deploy Mobile Cover skill while they are performing a Cover-to-Cover move.
  • Exotic Damage Resilience is now capped at 90%.
Weapons

These changes only impact weapons acquired after Update 1.3 unless stated otherwise.

  • Added unique bonuses to several weapon families:
    • LMG – Increased damage to targets out of cover by X%.
    • Shotguns – Added a chance to stagger NPCs. This will not affect other players.
    • Assault Rifles – Added an enemy armor damage bonus. This does not impact damage done to other players.
  • Changed the weapon bonus on SMGs from a % crit hit chance to % crit hit damage.
  • Increased the base damage of Shotguns.
  • Decreased the damage done by the AUG and Vector. This impacts all new and existing ones.
  • Increased the minimum accuracy cap on the M1A. When shooting consistently, the crosshair will grow to a much larger size than it previously did. This impacts all new and existing M1As.
  • The damage done by Explosive bullets has been reduced.
  • The status effect of Incendiary bullets has been reduced against other players.
Items

  • Every gear piece now has a set number of mod slots that can’t be recalibrated. This change only affects gear that drops after Update 1.3. Each gear piece will now have:

  • Added a new inventory slot for Misc.
  • Improved the visibility of Supply Drops on the Mega Map.

[sigh]

Game is beginning to feel like a treadmill. You slowly make progress towards getting better gear or weapons, and then they nerf them or change the rules behind them. So my Aug is now less powerful, I have much lower headshot and elite damage (unless I want to equip 5 items from one set, and then not be able to have any bonuses from any other sets).

I think the other thing that is getting annoying is that because you are reliant on RNG for drops, it can take forever to get the items you want that best support your play style. I have a whole load of 240 level gear set items, but was limited to being able to switch because I don't have decent sentry gloves - and no way of getting blueprints etc. Now there are loads more items - which in theory would be good, but in practice this just means your chance of getting a particular item has just drastically shrunk.

I bought the season pass for this before it launched - but am actually regretting doing that. Will see how the new mode is - obviously will have to wait an additional month as am on PS4. I don't think exclusivity deals should apply if you are selling season passes - people have already paid for the content. It's different to a new map having a month exclusivity if no one has been able to buy it yet. But people have already bought it.

I do like being able to recalibrate weapon talents:

100 phoenix creds to re-calibrate a weapon talent. 149 PC for 2nd re-calibration, 201 PC for 3rd. Capped at 6 times.

For the Underground:

Hard underground rewards are 182 weapons and 214 gear sets.

Assuming CM = 204 and 240, Heroic = 229 and 268 GS.

Basically, just farm Heroic.

Why even have Hard mode then? That is useless.

Reclaimer
•Set Bonus (2): +100% Support Station healing speed
•Set Bonus (3): +50% Consumables Duration
•Set Bonus (4): Talent | Reclaimer Consumables and special ammo used now apply to the whole group and are not consumed on use.

B.L.I.N.D.
•Set Bonus (2): +20.0% Pulse critical hit damage
•Set Bonus (3): +100% Blind/Deaf Resistance
•Set Bonus (4): Talent | B.L.I.N.D. System Killing a target creates a flashbang effect at that position

DeadEye
•Set Bonus (2): +20% Marksman Rifle Critical Hit Damage
•Set Bonus (3): +40.0% Initial Bullet Stability
•Set Bonus (4): Talent | DeadEYE While not scoped critical hit chance on marksman rifles is increased to 100%, but headshot damage bonus is removed.

Firecrest
•Set Bonus (2): +3 Incendiary Bullets Capacity
•Set Bonus (3): +100% Reload Speed
•Set Bonus (4): Talent | FireCrest Killing a burning target grants incendiary bullets for 10 seconds.

AlphaBridge
•Set Bonus (2): +2 Medkit Capacity
•Set Bonus (3): +100% Health Regen
•Set Bonus (4): Talent | AlphaBridge If your Primary and Secondary Weapon is of the same category, they both gain all of the unique active talents.

I dunno, I can see myself using AlphaBridge in the Dark Zone. For example I can have one SMG with damage oriented perks, and another with healing or skill oriented perks. So long as I have the necessary stats to unlock all features, that means both guns will have access to all 6 stats. I could certainly get behind using an SMG or AR with Brutal, Deadly, Destructive, Fierce, Self Preserved and Predatory/Sustained. It could even give lower GS guns a use if they've got all those perks if you just keep them as your secondary and use your more powerful weapon as your primary. I'd probably do this for all weapon types so if I run out of ammo using SMG, I can just swap out to AR and I'm good to go again.

If you added 2 Lone Star items, then that would double your ammo too - which would help if you are having two of the same weapon type as your primary and secondary.

In the same position to be honest.
Me and my friend game shared this at £45 each with the DLC, but whether I play it is another story.
Like you say, it just seems a never ending cycle of get the perfect player, start again, in a continuous loop.

I've said from the beginning, they need to add some game modes like TDM or other things.
It means building your character has a purpose. All we do now is cycle the same routes, same fights, same gear on a daily basis, and for what, it to reset again in 30 days.

Give the game a purpose. I've built the perfect player, now let me use it against others.
Going rogue is fine, but it's not for everybody

It's either going to be really good or really bad, everything sounds good apart from the weapon and striker/sentry nerf.

Guess we will see how it goes.

So torn with what to do with this game now, I still haven't purchased the season pass and I've been grinding for quite a while to get some 240 gearsets (I've still not got a complete set, they're all a bit of a mish mash) and it took me ages to get a decent Vector / Aug at 204 (then after getting one, 4 come along at a similar time :annoyed:), then it all goes and changes again!

There are a few changes that seem appealing to me, especially the weapon recalibration which is long overdue, but the nerf of the Sentry and Striker gear is just ridiculous!
