They're completely different players so I never really liked that comparison.

You can compare their talents without them being the same type of players. What im saying is i'd put him in the same tier talent wise as Pogba at the same age and it has nothing to do with where they play

Surely must be our fastest player and on par with Bellerin? His pace is ridiculous.

I'd like to know the exact speed at which TFM was running.

He runs from the half way line to the penalty spot in 4 seconds give or take and that's averaged at 36km/h.

The record in the BPL is 35km/h set by Valencia.

Anyone have anything more accurate?

It's just very difficult to compare their talent. This is partly due to the uncertainty of where TFM will play. For example, his technique is great for a cb. However, for a dm, it isn't amazing. At rb, I don't feel his attacking ability is good enough to be special.

However, the defensive side of his game is something I believe in. I believe his tacking ability is special. I also believe with a player like Pogba next to him in cm and taking more of the offensive responsibility away, it lets him shine more. He has the ability to drive the ball forward into open space and he will be able to do that more frequently as a central midfielder.

He is definitely talented and I have expressed that the entire time, but it's hard for me to truly say he's on Pogba's level of talent.

BT sport used to have running and sprint stats showing online, seems like they've stopped doing that this season which is a shame.

Ibra should have passed across for a tap in. Let him off seeing as he scored.

Id rather see him come on instead of Fellaini when trying to see out 1-0s. I think people would be more forgiving to him if he made a mistake as well cos he will probably learn from it.

With his pace as well, you wont see people running past him many times (and if they do, he can use his acceleration to get back).

Anyone think he can turn into a right foot Bale? He's not that assuring as defender. He's shown glimpse of good attacking ability here and there when being in the right mood, but being limited due to be a defender. This brief cameo as winger, he was doing everything right. Even that lung bursting run during Zlatan goal is very good since there is a chance in that position for a rebound. Even that slipped fluke shot is good. Hit the target with good speed on the shot. We have players who struggle to hit target with any decent speed on the ball now despite being good position.

One of our youngsters (can't remember who) said that Fosu is the fastest player in the squad, quicker than Rashford etc.
I believe it was Ro-Shaun Williams. But what he said is something like TFM is fastest in the first 20 meters with RoShaun Williams himself is the fastest in a full out run. Then in football, the acceleration is most of the time more important than top speed.

Bellerin top speed is overrated in a sense of him being a top defender since I see a fair deal of him being turned by attackers with just skill. Not saying speedster defenders are bad since team playing high line would need these type of defenders. Just that it's way overrated by fans in rating a defender.

People are far too obsessed with pace.

Bellerin is a better defender by far at this stage. TFM has looked suspect in every game he has played for us including Northampton. He has a lot to learn defensively.

I was not comparing TFM to Bellerin as defender or pace wise. I myself see TFM very suspect as defenders and think today showing as winger is quite promising, with TFM in a right mood has shown some good attacking talent in the past.

No way. One of Fosu's weaknesses is his shooting ability. At least that is what I saw of him in youth matches.

Perhaps not long shot with we already have Pogboom to be entertained. How about playing shoulder with opponent fullbacks aka Theo Walcott? This goal stuck in my mind

Which position did he play the most at youth level?
He switched between cb, rb, and cm. However, when he had the opportunity to shoot he mostly messed up. Bale has a great left foot shooting rockets from outside. I just can't see TFM suddenly turning into Bale when there is nothing that hints at him being able to shoot well. It wasn't a big deal because all of us saw him as a defensive player.

Not sure anyone said TFM was better? Bellerin is also almost 3 years older, so I'd expect him to have a lot more defensive nous.

 They nabbed that off the caf twitter account back before twitter told us to stop posting clips on there.

Nah TFM is very good defensively and showed last season how good he was. His only mistake was the penalty vs Everton but even that seemed a legit tackle in the replay

I think he's good last season bar some inexperienced rash moment. However, this season our defensive play has changed with a more zonal approach than man marking. TFM this season look a bit lost and lacking awareness in defending phase at time. Too quick to drop to the ground and lose his man. He's more impressive in attacking this season and this game as right winger makes me wonder about the possibility. He is quite comfortable and gliding past opponent in 1 vs 1 situation. This is talent on it own. Of course, all this may just be a fluke

Would love to see a midfield three of Pogba, Herrera and TFM going forward, it's got everything.

It's nowhere near good enough no one has the ability to be a playmaker and set our tempo. Pogba is a special player but we need a Scholes or Carrick type play maker to compliment Pogba. Not convinced fully about Herrera he's over rated on here by some and never seen TFM in midfield to muster an opinion.

Played right back, midfield and winger under Jose. Played right back, left back, centre back and midfield under LVG. People said Blind is versatile and the new version of O'Shea. Mensah is clearly more versatile. If he ever play as a keeper his versatility will be on par with O'Shea

Tend to agree with you. We can do better than Herrera though he is Good. TFM isn't anything more than a Mikel style stopper in midfield for me. He doesn't have the intelligence to be roaming all over the pitch IMO.

He is a centre back.

Yep TFM is an exciting prospect though and I'm excited about his chances. We could and should definitely look to upgrade on Herrera though not a main priority given he is a good player just now great imo
